"Mom how much farther? We've been traveling in this damn car for nearly five hours!"
"Just a little farther sweetheart."
"Mom I'm hungry! Can we stop for something to eat?"
"I'm sorry darling, but you'll have to wait until we reach Gemstone Hall to get something to eat."

"If I have to listen to those two and watch their mother condone their spoilt behavior for another minute, I swear to the Goddess I will jump out of this damn car!" Keira growled.

"I know you're feeling irritated Keira, but just have a little more patience. We'll arrive at Gemstone Hall soon enough," I said as I tried to soothe my fussy wolf.

"I expected this behavior from a pup. But them? They're both twenty and yet they're acting like two five year olds!"

I couldn't blame her, Bailey and Bradley have been complaining nonstop since we left Blue Moonstone Valley. But what could we do? The drive to Gemstone Hall took a lot of time considering we had to cross four territories in order to get there.

First we had to cross the rocky terranean behind the mountains at the west border that separated our territory from that of Pyrite Desert; the closest pack to ours and one of the least populated. Then we had to drive until we arrived at Lolite Canyon and cross the bridge which would take us directly to Onyx Plains.

We stopped to pay our respects to the wolves who lost their families in the rogue attack, and Uncle Trevor asked to see Alpha José but was informed that he left for Gemstone Hall since early morning with his mate, son and Beta.

After that we left and continued on our way after stopping for gas, a bite to eat and bathroom breaks. We drove for a couple of hours more and passed Peach Moonstone Valley on the way. Now we were on the highway which would lead us to Gemstone Hall, located in the fertile continental paradise known as Gemtopia.

Gemtopia was founded by the ancestors of all thirty five packs in our society and contained in a secret underground cave, were the thirty five halves of all the gemstones that represented each pack. In case one pack was faced with a cataclysmic event which resulted in their gemstone being destroyed, there was the other half in the cave which would act as a substitute.

Originally there were forty packs, but according to legend, five of them disappeared off the face of the earth millennium ago. And for some reason unbeknownst to all, the stones belonging to the five packs also disappeared. And here's the scary part; no one touched them, no one took them. No one knows what happened to them, they just...disappeared, wiped from history.

As though they never even existed.

"Mom I'm thirsty, is there any water!" Bradley groaned.
"For Goddess sake Bradley! You and Bailey please stop with the constant whining and complaining and just sit quietly until we arrive at Gemstone Hall," Uncle Trevor growled irritatedly.

"What's your deal Trevor? They're not whining and complaining for nothing, we've been driving for hours, they're tired you know,"
Aunt Vanessa scolded.
"

I understand that Vanessa, but be reasonable. They're not pups that can't talk and cry to get what they want. They're twenty years of age, old enough to sit quietly and have patience."

"They're not a dog that you can issue a command to and they'll obey. They're hungry, thirsty, tired and carsick!"

"Karina is probably hungry, thirsty, tired and carsick just like them, but I'm not hearing her complaining and asking for anything to eat or drink," Uncle Trevor said pointedly. "In fact I haven't heard a peep out of her since we left home!"
