"Did you edit the spreadsheet and email it to Carter?"
"I did it early this morning."
"Did you receive the invoices from the accountant?"
"Everything is there and the money is in the correct amount."
"What about the credit card payments? Is everything paid for?"

"Damian relax, you put me in charge of the pack while you're gone the least you could do is trust that I'll handle everything."

I groaned and pinched the bridge between my nose. "Considering that I left you in charge of the pack and not Dad, I don't think I can relax Bethany. Dad was supposed to stay home and take care of everything in my absence. Little did I know he would be coming with me to Gemstone Hall."

"Dad must've just wanted to come to see his old friends Damian, that's all," she reasoned. "And what if a fight breaks out and Andrik won't be able to hold you back from killing someone?"

Unlike some people, I actually cared about my public appearance and my reputation. It took years to aquire the respect, loyalty and prominence that I had today. To tarnish it with senseless fighting isn't something I'll do even at gunpoint.

"I have to finish getting ready for the meeting Bethany, so I'll hang up and call you later," I told her.
"Okay big brother, I'll see you back home," she said cheerfully.
When the call disconnected I stuck my phone in my pocket and continued the task of fixing my tie.

When Andrik, my father and I arrived at Gemtopia we headed to Gemstone Hotel where we reserved three rooms. Andrik and Father went to shower and relax for the half hour we had until we left for the meeting. But I took the time to do some office work on my laptop which I brought along with me.

After I sent an email to one of my clients, proof-read documents from the new investment center and made some phone calls, I went to shower and change into the suit I brought. Now I was in front of the mirror finishing getting ready.

As I was doing that, thoughts of finding my mate subconsciously drifted through my mind. According to the prophecy she would be a strong she wolf, possessing the chasity of Artemis, the beauty of Aphrodite and the wisdom of Athena.

The prophecy also said she would have the potential to bring death and destruction to anyone who caused harm to her or the ones she held dear. The elders believed she would bring change to Bloodstone Isle and the land will prosper as well as its wolves.

I secretly hoped this were the case. There was also a prophecy about Aisha that stated her mate will bring hope, solace and love into her life. My family prayed for this to be true. Mother may not say it, but I knew she felt sad when she saw Aisha living like this.

Partying late and having affairs with other wolves when she hadn't found her own mate. It angered her to see her daughter turning a blind eye to the laws that prohibited such adulterous acts. Aisha often argued with Mother for her interferences, saying that it was her life and she could live it however she pleased.

Father never bothered to say anything since he knew Aisha would never heed to his words and so, made it a point to stay quiet. I too never interfered in Aisha's life. How could I when my past actions didn't differ all that much from hers? Sure I never indulged in sex as frequently as her, but...I had my moments.

The only difference was, my family weren't aware of them.

"Can you hurry up please? With the pace you're going at, our mate will probably be gone by the time you're done,"

I rolled my eyes, not in the mood to reply to Drake's snarkiness. I get that he was impatient to get to the meeting so we could find our mate, but I wasn't. For two reasons. One: there wasn't any guarantee that she'd be there.
