Song: Rainy Days And Mondays by Carpenters

"Gastrovascular," Susan reads from an incredibly thick book.
Lucy and I are staring out of the window watching the rain pound against the windows. Guess Peter was wrong about having a fun day today. Edmund is lying under a chair for some reason; no idea what he's doing. Susan and Peter are playing some kind of 'guess the language' game or something. I'm just listening to the rain, I find it comforting. Part of me actually wants to go out and run around. Do whatever I want because it's dark and no one could see my terrible dance moves through the rain. Maybe I'll do that later.
"Come on, Peter," Susan's voice snaps me from my thoughts. "Gastrovascular."
Peter looks at me and I can't help but smile. I mouth to him 'Latin' since I remember the word from biology class.
"Is it Latin?" Peter says.
"Yes," Susan replies and goes to look for another word. Peter and I make eye contact again and I send him a wink to which he uses his hand to suppress a laugh.
"Is it Latin for 'worst game ever invented'?" Edmund chimes in, sitting up from his spot on the floor.
I roll my eyes at his commentary while Susan slams her book shut. I go back to looking out the window as Lucy leaves our spot in the bay window. I think I'll go dancing in the rain soon.
"We could play hide and seek," Lucy suggests hopefully.
"But we're already having so much fun," Peter says sarcastically. I can't stop the smile that forms on my face at his words.
Lucy grabs his arms and starts hugging it, giving him her puppy dog eyes that have yet to fail her. "Come on Peter, please? Pretty please?"
I can see the moment Peter breaks as he looks at Lucy. "One. Two. Three. Four..."
Lucy smiles widely and starts running out of the room to hide. Peter stands up from his chair to face the wall as Edmund, Susan and I follow Lucy's lead and find hiding spots. Susan finds an empty trunk to crawl in as I run past finding a suit of armour in a corner to hide behind in one of the many lounges. I can still hear Peter counting across the house. Knowing Edmund and Lucy, Susan and I will probably win.
By the time I'm fully hidden, Peter has reached the 90s. "Ninety-seven. Ninety-eight. Ninety-nine. One-hundred. Ready or not, here I come!"
"I'm back!" I hear Lucy yell. "It's alright, I'm back!"
"Shush, he's coming!" Edmunds voice also rings through the house.
Now concerned, I follow the voices to find Peter standing in front of Edmund and Lucy. The smallest Pevensie looks very confused.
"Y'know, I don't think you two have quite got the idea of this game," Peter teases.
"Weren't you wondering where I was?" Lucy asks.
"That's the point, that's why he was seeking you," Edmund explains with a sassy tone.
I hear footsteps behind me to see Susan running up to the group. "Does this mean I win?"
Peter turns to her saying he doesn't think Lucy wants to play anymore while I step a bit closer to Lucy. "Lucy, what's wrong?" I ask.
"I've been gone for hours," she says slowly.
I tilt my head. "What do you mean, Lu?"
Lucy grabs my hand and starts pulling me somewhere whilst explaining her thought process. "Well, I went to hide in the wardrobe but it lead to this winter forest. It was just like Alice! I went in, had tea and cake with Mr. Tumnus." She pulls me into an empty room with only a large wardrobe at the back and a white sheet on the ground. "He's a faun by the way, and he's super nice, you would love him, June. I actually fell asleep while I was there, so I was in the wardrobe forest for hours."
