"Gray! Remember when I told you I got a girlfriend? This is her!" Stephen said cheerily, indicating a serene looking girl with intelligent eyes(A/N: yeah, you can deny having blue eyes which is why I didn't mention color, but you can't deny intelligent eyes and I will not hear arguments against this 😾). She smiled sweetly, holding out a hand.

"It's nice to meet you. Stephen's told me a lot. I'm Y/N," she introduced herself. She had a soothing, pleasant voice, and I smiled back, shaking her hand. Y/N had a firm yet loose handshake. I watched as Stephen practically worshiped her with a silent gaze. 

Yup, she's the one for him.

-End of Flashback-

I instantly trusted Y/N the moment I met her, seeing how she made Stephen so happy. Well, he was always happy, so happier. She herself was the most perfect girl I'd ever met(A/N: I have to say girl because Stephen's the most perfect boy😤). 

"Hey Gray!" I heard her melodic voice behind me. Over time, we'd become best friends to the point that we could hang out without Stephen and not feel awkward. The same way Stephen and I hung out; in our little trio, we each had our own special dynamics with each other.

"Y/N. Why'd you wanna meet?" I asked, smiling as she got closer. Y/N looked at me with a faint smile. She didn't register a lot of emotion in her expressions normally, so I appreciated the tiny bit of happiness from her.

"It's Stephen's birthday tomorrow and he only told me last night! I have to get a present for him, so do you wanna come?" she asked. I grinned at her but at the same time felt an unfamiliar twinge in my chest. 

Stephen...

I shook my head slightly to clear my mind. That was odd. 

"Of course! Let's go, I know a store he really likes and I was gonna go to that one for his gift, but then I went to the OTHER one he really likes lol. C'mon, it'll be closing soon." Y/N flashed an actual, wide smile at me quickly before returning to her usual calm look. Still, that moment made my stomach flip.

"Thanks, I owe you one." We headed to the store, butterflies still circling in my stomach.

-Hour Later-

Oh my God...what're these feelings? I don't understand them...will I ever manage?

"Well, let's hope he likes it! Bye Y/N!" he called. My heart raced as his smile lit up our corner of the world. Then he was gone. My subconscious whispered accusations at me.

Stephen, think of Stephen. My light, my breath, and my universe. But in those deep corners that I shun, only emerging when they're flooded with moonlight...another presence awakens. I love them both...

If I think about it, I actually developed feelings for Gray first. But when I caught feelings for Stephen, I confessed to him, because I though of the whole "if you truly loved him you wouldn't have fallen in love with the other, go with the second choice".
