"There you are." Fred places a long, tawny string into my hand.

"Thanks, Love." I reach up, kissing his cheek. "You're a doll." He turns slightly red.

"What are you up to, Moon?" George smirks, quirking a brow at me.

"Nothing that should concern you." I smile, patting his chest. "Though I appreciate the concern." I turn on my heel making my way back to the dungeons.

"You know, we don't usually give those out!" Fred calls to me.

"I'll be sure to return it." I turn, and begin walking faster. "We wouldn't want anyone to steal your ideas now, would we?"

I rush back down through the cordor. Finally reaching my destination, I cast a disillusionment charm on myself, helping me to blend into my surroundings. I place one end of the string lent to me by the twins and tuck the other end slightly beneath the door.

"No. You need to stop." Severus whispers.

"Severus please."

"I– I think you should leave."

"Why are you doing this?" Her voice becomes serious.

"Why are you?"

"I– I miss you." I furrow my brows at this.

"No. You're bored."

"Severus–"

"Then why now?" His voice is desperate. "You stopped speaking to me over 15 years ago–"

"Because you called me a mudblood!" She hisses in defense.

"I'm not defending myself, Lily. I'm only explaining my hesitation. You had a child. Maybe your relationship with James was rushed because of Harry, but you never showed you were unhappy. It's been years. I just– I genuinely don't understand."

"I don't either." She sighs. I hear a chair scrape and I assume she sits down. "Lately I've just been lost in thought. About what could have been– would have been had you not been put in Slytherin–"

"I don't regret being chosen for Slytherin–"

"Or I in Gryffindor." She adds. "Because maybe then you and I wouldn't have grown apart. And maybe then you would have never had any confrontations with James or Sirius and we would have never gotten into that argument–"

"So instead of speaking to me, you come in here and kiss me expecting me to go along with this?"

"I know, I'm sorry. I should have tried to talk to you first."

Silence. I wait for a moment, not knowing how to feel about this situation. The chair screeches again with slow paced footsteps following after.

"Lily..." He whispers, sounding hesitant.

"Just... remind me what it felt like to have you."

"We never–"

"Severus, please." She pleads.

Silence again. Finally, the sharp sound of their lips coming together and separating floods my ear.

"Holy shi–" I cover my mouth immediately.

"Hold on–" Severus hushes her. The sound of his feet hitting the floor gets louder as he approaches the door.

He heard me.

The door opens and I stay still, blending into the wall. His head looks up and down the hallway, being sure that no one was there. I hold my breath praying he goes back into the room.
