CALLI
Now that I think of it, it was such a perfect day.
When I woke up, ramdam ko ang sikat ng araw na sumisilip sa bintana ng kwarto ko. Ngunit hindi mainit, hindi rin malamig. Then I cooked breakfast.
It's the first time na perfect ang pagkakaluto ko ng sunny-side-up eggs. Not runny but not overcooked either.
Hindi rin ako late for work, lagi akong late, but not today. Walang traffic sa byahe.
The day went by smoothly. Everything went perfectly... to bring me to this moment.

I was at the perfect spot for a truck to crash into. A few glass-shattering, car-flipping, people-screaming, and bone-breaking moments later, I am now lying here.
Sa labas ng sasakyan ko, sa gitna ng kalye. Bathing in my own pool of blood.
Alam kong ito nalang ang natitirang minuto ng buhay ko.
"So this is what dying feels like," I whispered to myself. As I was about to close my eyes, that's when I saw him.
He effortlessly lifted me up as if I'm the lightest thing he's ever lifted in his life. He stared at me with his striking blue eyes. "Not today, Calli. Not on my watch."
