Dick really wasn't supposed to be feeling like this.
He and Babs had been dating for 3 years back to back, and before that, there'd been off and on moments in their relationship.
Not only that, but they'd been best friends for years before they started dating.
Dick couldn't imagine anyone else undoubtedly with him when he thought of his future.
So why was he freaking out like this?
"Dickhead, calm the fuck down." Jason ordered, swatting him across the back of his head.
"You are terrible at comforting people," Tim said, chuckling.
"Fuck you, I'm great at this!" Jason insisted, reaching over to swat Tim too, causing his younger brother to dodge and try to hit him back.
"Cease this tomfoolery at once." Damian snapped, walking into the room, Duke grinning behind him.
"Aw, Dami, you look so cute!" Dick cooed, forgetting his troubles for a moment.
Damian glared at him, secretly happy with the compliment.
"Tt. Richard, you look immaculate. Stop this silly nervousness mishap."
"Who knew the demon brat had a heart?" Jason said, snickering.
Damian lunged at him.
...
Meanwhile...
"I brought champagne!!" Dinah announced, opening the door to Bruce's room, where the bride and her maids were getting ready with a flourish.
"Hell yeah!" Steph cheered, high-fiving her.
Babs grinned, rolling her eyes fondly. "Are you sure I should be drinking before the ceremony?"
Dinah shrugged. "You don't have to walk anyway. Plus I've never seen you drunk. Lord knows there's been plenty of gatherings where you've out drunk us all."
Babs smirked. "It's my specialty."
...
"What if she leaves me at the altar?" Dick exclaimed, anxiously messing with his hair. "What if the priest forgets his lines? What if I forget my lines??"
His brothers glanced between one another, the same expression on each of their faces.
...
Babs glanced down at her body, looking at the dress and then at her wheelchair.
She... didn't know if this was going to go well.
And now she's overthinking everything. Fantastic.
She knew that champagne was a bad idea...
...
"Dick, seriously this is going to be an amazing wedding. Best one of the century. You and Babs are perfect for each other." Tim said, awkwardly patting his elder brother's back.
"'Nothing is perfect. Life is messy. Relationships are complex. Outcomes are uncertain. People are irrational.' - Hugh Mackay." Dick muttered back.
Tim's eye twitched.
...
"Babs, why are you crying?" Helena asked, causing everyone to look over.
Babs jolted, shakily raising a hand to her eye, wiping the tear away and looking at it. "Oh, am I? I didn't realize."
