This kind of skips around, but I figured it worked this way. Time frame is within a month. Every time skip is around a few days long.

I tried to showcase how different Tim and Steph are about waiting for their soulmate's. Steph is excited and optimistic, Tim is unsure they're right for each other until he actually meets her.

Everyone has a tattoo with the meaning of your soulmate's name. Located on your left wrist, the meaning of their first, middle, and last names are clearly seen in white. The tattoo turns black when you meet your soulmate. If the name is crossed out, your soulmate has died. Sometimes you receive another soulmate, sometimes you don't.

When Stephanie Brown was one, she got a tattoo on her wrist with the words, "Honoring God - Son of Jack - Dragon"

The very same day, Timothy Jackson Drake was born, his tattoo already there for everyone to see. "Crown - Precious Purple Jewel - Brown"

Tim sat at his desk, examining his wrist with a melancholy most don't have when they think about their soulmate.

"Baby bird, what's wrong?" Dick asked, appearing beside him. Tim startled, so lost in his thoughts he didn't notice his older brother until he spoke, and shook his head.

"Nothing." Tim said, "Just thinking."

Dick's eyebrows furrowed. "Are you sure?"

Tim nodded, smiling falsely. "Yeah. Just a bit tired. I might head to bed soon."

Dick grinned. "That's a great idea! Lord knows you barely sleep enough as it is."

Tim rolled his eyes fondly. "Sleep is for the weak."

Dick nodded seriously in agreement. "Right. You keep telling yourself that." He reached down and ruffled Tim's hair with a laugh, ignoring Tim as he swatted at Dick's hands before the older man left the room.

"Today is the day!" Stephanie said brightly, sitting up in bed. "It has to be!!"

Her roommate groaned and rolled over in her bed. "Go back to sleep, Steph!"

Stephanie pouted, turning to look over at the blue haired woman. "But today could be it! I could meet my soulmate today!"

Harper rolled her eyes. "You say that everyday. You've been wrong every time."

"But, at some point, I won't be wrong." Steph insisted, ever the optimist.

Harper sighed, covering her head with her pillow.
