RECAP (From 29- Fugitive-II)
(Ria) I screamed and turned back to get out of here, only to find a masked man and a gun in his hand.
"Who are you, why did you kill her? Please, let me go!" I screamed taking the support of the wall that was covered with blood droplets.
The man looked at Maria's dead body and I was quick to throw my bag-pack on his face as a distraction and tried to run out.
But he was quick to hurl me back with his hand grabbing my throat tight, "Why to hurry, my love when we just met after so long!"
And right there, I recognized the voice.
AND NOW...
BEAUFORT - JOHN's POV:
"John, will you please stop pacing left and right, and stop giving me a headache?" Joe shot out on me, startling my train of thought.
"Huh? Are you having a headache, Joe?" I went to him and sat on his bed beside him. I placed my hand another time to check his temperature. I had been with him in his room for almost the entire day while both Logan and Jack were out since morning.
They were still stubborn about keeping it a secret on how they were going to tackle David Tiger's problem. I chose to keep patience. It was a waste of time asking them anything when they were determined not to.
Right now, all I cared about was Joe, especially because of the fact that he was beaten so badly by 5 unknown men in our vicinity, while I was right there at home.
I still could recall the horror when I ran through the streets after Joe called me. And I skipped a beat when I saw his head, his grey shirt all stained in blood.
Joe suddenly slapped my hand away, "John, I am OK. In fact, I am absolutely fine. Please stop checking if I have a fever because I don't. And please stop treating me like a baby, because I am not!... Why, I mean why do you treat me like this, John? Not just you, but everyone? Trust me, I did fight with those goons! I was just... outnumbered, not weak."
I sighed and placed my hand over his shoulder, "Joe... who got all these in your head, huh? No one considered you weak! We just care for you, maybe a little more than what you ask for. After all, you are the youngest Wilson...! And You are a wonderful, smart, tough young man and I am always proud of you. But I can't be just OK with the fact that some men hit you so badly, leaving you all bruised! Honestly, I am so mad that I want to break their bones...! I am just thankful that you are OK and safe."
Joe got out of his bed and gave me a glass of water to drink, "John, you are over-thinking, a lot! I know you asked all of us to stay indoors, but I went out just to arrange for Jack's birthday. Yes, he asked us not to have any celebrations. But it's his birthday tomorrow! And just because things are going a little bumpy, we cannot stop living and celebrating."
I drank the water and put the glass on the table, "Joe, I totally agree with you... Thing is that..." I sighed and chose to stop talking.
-"John, stop hiding things, please. Tell me, before Alex and Andy are back from preparing the dinner. God knows what they are doing in the kitchen for the last 50 minutes..."
-"I know... I am dying out of hunger!"
-"Enough with jokes, John. You gotta tell me what's going on!"
I smiled and then exhaled, "Nothing much, Joe... Just that mom, dad, uncle, and aunt are in Cuba now..."
-"What? Cuba? John... they were in Manhattan, right?"
