Recap
"Ofcourse, love. But I am sure that you be thrilled to hear my news. Your blood reports are here! You are two months pregnant and that means I have to wait for seven long months to hold my baby! That's so unfair!" Derrick was never this delighted. He kissed Rosy and got back to celebrate his happiness with the new uncles who were delighted to hear the news.
But Rosy felt numb inside and didn't know what to react and suddenly her small backpack, which Derrick failed to notice, felt greatly heavy and burdening.
"Hey, Rosy... why are you crying? It's just a start for us to be happy because we are getting married next week and after that, we are leaving Beaufort and moving to Sedona, forever!"
3 Years Later in Sedona
"Sam, Bolt, when was the deal done?"
-"Ten months back, Derrick."
-"Yes, and what did we decide then, Mr. James, I hope you remember... ANSWER ME!"
-"That, that we will stick to our own zones of selling the smuggled items. Let me go, Derrick! You are new in town and I have been in this city for more than a decade now. You can't harm me. Yes, I indeed broke the rule that was set ten months back, between all the gangsters in Sedona. But I like to change rules whenever I want. You tricked me, Derrick, by luring me with your fake friendship for last six months! I was such a fool to come and meet you alone in this place. You are much more a bigger cheater. But my men will not leave you-"
-"Your men? You mean Charles, Van and Scott, your most trusted men whom you gave nothing but money..." Bolt spoke this time.
"And that's the easiest thing to attract someone. We gave them enough money that they don't care about you live or die. You can try calling them."
James looked puzzled and then worried and tried dialing some numbers but none of them got picked.
"Derrick, just let me go today, I-I promise, I will not interfere with your business ever." James had his words a little softer and as he tried to step towards Derrick, Sam and Bolt pushed him back.
-"I give only one chance and not more than that. And you have exhausted your chance already. Sean, I hope you know what to do." Derrick said and stepped out of the shabby and dilapidated house and started walking towards his home and soon he heard a gunshot and smiled at that. It reminded him of his little girl, his love, his life as to how terrified she would become at such violence.
'Your future-wife should be someone who is even able to shoot an attacking bear fearlessly.'
Derrick chuckled to the decade-old words of his master Byron. His girl couldn't even hold a knife to someone. And he preferred her to be that way. And when he casually checked the time on his watch, it was 9 o clock. He stopped for a second and then started running at full speed and entered the house, banging open the door.
His assumption was right as he saw the medicines still untouched on the front table. He growled at the little girl sitting on the floor at a corner, "Do you realize that it's 2 minutes past 9o clock, and you are still sitting on the floor, huh?"
"I-I.. umm -I-"
-"What?"
-"Master, I was going to, but on hearing that loud and scary sound, I froze. I felt like-like a gunshot! I was so-"
-"Do you realize that you just wasted ANOTHER MINUTE!"
The girl forgot all about the gun-shot and grabbed the medicine and the glass of water and ran. She hurried to climb up the stairs but felt reluctant to open the door, the person inside was much more fragile than her. But she had to, Derrick hated things not being done at the right time and the right way.
