RECAP (from Liability)
I(Evelyn) tossed the album hard on the floor and instantly I saw the bagpack that Libby had packed for me when she guided me to flee away two days back. I swiftly grabbed it and the looked at the open window in Libby's room. I was still reluctant for a few seconds but I made up my mind quick and paced towards it. But suddenly I was pulled back and hurled back on Libby's bed and I found Ethan.
I looked at him in disbelief while Ethan folded his arms, "as long as I am here, you can never escape, Evy."
SEDONA (Derrick's place)
EVELYN'sPOV:
I straightened myself, got myself up from the bed with a jerk. I looked at the window again and my night gown was not helping me much. Swiftly, I picked up my bag, planning to run to the window again, but Ethan came forward and stood like an obstruction, "Miss Evelyn Wilson, you can't leave the premises, and we are obliged to accompany the Wilsons' from Beaufort."
But I kept looking at the window and knew I was fated to go somewhere else. I took a step back, thinking of a means for distraction, when I picked up the jug full of water. I took my sweet time to take a sip of it, but then quickly splashed the whole water on Ethan's face.
Ethan, as expected, wobbled because of the water splash, and I was determined to take full advantage of that second.
I ran and had almost got down the window. I knew I would be able to flee away this time. Zane and Ried were busy packing, and the majority of our guards were ordered by Bolt to be present at various hidden locations from Sedona till Beaufort. Maybe, I was over-confident, but I was determined too.
Yet, I stopped.
I cursed myself and turned towards Ethan with challenging eyes, "Evy?"
Ethan, who was coughing, wiped his face off his sleeves and leaped towards me, "What? Miss Wilson, I warn you, you should not leave this premise. We will face a lot of trouble if-"
I stepped towards Ethan, "You called me... 'Evy'?"
Ethan slightly turned away, then faced me, "No, I called you Miss Wilson. You are mistaken, ma'am. You might have mistaken me with a different 'Ethan'".
Saying that, he walked to the window and closed it from inside.
My golden chance to run away was ruined, but the urge to get my answers were stronger, "Don't you dare lie now! I know what I heard. You called me 'Evy' the first time!"
Ethan gave a short look to me and started walking out of the room. But I ran quickly and closed the door from inside with latches and security code on the door on. Libby always had her birthday date and month as the code to her door.
Ethan gave an irritated look now, "Miss Wilson, you are doing a big mistake. I am not the one who you are thinking of."
I chuckled, "You are right. Because I ever imagined that my Ethan could cheat me, even when 7 days ago when Bolt told me that the person responsible for bringing me here is named 'Ethan'... I was shocked. But I still had a hope that that's a different Ethan. And then two days back I saw you with Sir Brook, I was devastated. But you know what, I still had a hope, a tiny hope, that he just looked similar to Ethan, but is not my Ethan. But then, you just called me 'Evy'!"
Ethan ignored my words and tried to open the door, "I don't know what you are talking about. Please don't plan to escape, and... open the lock, Miss Wilson!"
