I slept. I'm not sure for how long, but I slept. I could hear Mom and Dad talking every once in a while as my sleep cycle brought me closer to wakefulness, but otherwise, I slept. Dad was still holding my hand. Mom would hold my other hand once in a while but I know she had Rosie to tend to, too.

I heard someone come into my room.

"She's still sleeping?" The voice asked.

"Yeah. They told us in the ER she might sleep for a while," I heard Dad say.

"Yeah. She might. Lots going on in that brain of hers," the voice said.

"How long do you think she'll be on the ventilator?" I heard Mom ask.

"Once she starts breathing on her own, we'll take her off. Either she'll fight the vent, which will look like choking, or we'll try to challenge her by lowering the amount of breaths the vent takes for her. She'll have to take breaths on her own that way. The more she can take on her own, the faster she'll come off the vent."

"Why isn't she breathing on her own?" I heard Dad ask.

"We're not sure. The MRI didn't show any damage to her brain or brain stem. But her heart did stop and it may just be her body's way of allowing her to rest and heal. I'm pretty confident she'll be off the vent in a day or so," the voice said.

"SaSa," Rosie said. I opened my eyes.

"Hey there sweet girl," Mom said, sitting up on my bed, beside me. "You're doing great. You're going to be okay."

I gave her a thumbs up. Mom took my hand and kissed it, a teary eyed smile on her face.

"Hi, beautiful," Dad said on my other side. I looked over at him. His eyes were so red. I pointed at them.

"I know. I've been crying. I've been so scared and so upset that you're here. I'm so, so sorry," he said, his eyes tearing up again. I shook my head. Dad tried to stop crying.

Mom and Dad were talking to me but I stopped being able to follow what they were saying and I fell asleep.

I woke up choking. Something in my throat was choking me. I heard Dad's panicked voice and someone, someones, came running into my room and surrounded me. Someone told me to blow out hard on three and I did. Something was pulled from my throat and I coughed.

People were telling me to relax and I tried, but in was still coughing.

Finally, I stopped, but now I was tired again and fell asleep.

Tyler POV

Samantha woke up a couple of times. The second time she woke up choking and gasping. I called for a nurse and they said she was fighting the vent to breathe on her own. Nurses and a doctor came in and took her tube out. As soon as they were done, Samantha coughed for a bit and then fell back to sleep.

I sat and held her hand while she slept. She looked peaceful when she slept. I smiled. I have no idea what happened that landed us here, but Sam was getting better.

The doctors had told us they wanted to run a few tests to make sure Sam really was okay and those were booked.

Erin and Jill had come by earlier and visited, but Sam was still asleep.

Sunday morning she woke up and looked around.

"Hi there," I said, moving to sit on her bed.

"Hi Dad," she said, her voice a little raspy.

"You gave us quite a scare," I said.

"What happened?" She asked.

"Well, yesterday morning you came into the kitchen, looked at us and then dropped and had a seizure. It lasted over six minutes, and then your heart stopped and you weren't breathing," my voice caught as I tried not to cry again. "I did CPR on you until the ambulance came."

Sam's eyes filled with tears, too.

She threw her arms around me.

"I'm sorry!" She cried.

"Why are you sorry?" I asked, hugging her.

"I don't know," she said, sniffling. "Because I was so mad. Maybe that's what triggered a seizure?  Being mad for days."

"Maybe. And we were dumb not to tell you we would miss your game. I'm so sorry sweetheart. We should have at least texted you."

"Yeah," Sam said. "That was really pretty shitty."

"But we have a good reason," I said.

Just then Jenna walked in with Rosie.

"SaSa!" Rosie cried and put out her arms for Sam. Jenna went up to Sam and kissed her on the head and put Rosie in her lap.

"Good morning, sweetheart," Jenna said to Sam. "How are you feeling?"

"Okay, I guess," Sam said. "For someone whose heart stopped."

She smiled her cheeky smile.

Jenna looked at her and sighed.

"You're definitely feeling better."

"I was just about to tell Sam why we missed her game," I said.

"Oh. Okay," Jenna said, smiling.

"So, as I was saying, we were planning Spring Break," I said.

"Are we going back to California?" Sam asked, her eyes brightening.

"No," I smiled.

"Are you filming another video in Iceland? It was fun there."

"Nope," I smiled again.

"Then what?"

"We're going to see Mark and his family in London. We're going to stay at a hotel and we'll go to their place or they'll meet us in London  and take us around.  We planned everything with them the other day. Or. Well, last week I guess."

"Really?" Sam asked, a smile creeping onto her face.

"Really," I smiled.

"So cool!" Samantha said.

"By the way, Mark wishes you well. He texted me when you didn't answer your weekly zoom call," Jenna said.

"Okay,"
