Jenna POV

Rosie woke up a little later than normal, but she was cheerful when I got her out of bed. As we passed Samantha's room she pointed and said 'SaSa?'

"She's at Jill's, baby," I said. "We'll pick her up later, okay?"

"SaSa," Rosie said. "SaSa SaSa SaSa."

"Rosie baby, Samantha's at Jill's,"

I put her in her high chair and made myself a coffee before giving Rosie her breakfast.

Rosie was distracted while I was trying to feed her. She kept looking around the kitchen.

"Come on, Rosie posey. Breakfast."

"SaSa SaSa SaSa!" Rosie said.

I decided to let Rosie play for a bit and eat my own breakfast and drink my coffee. It wasn't worth fighting her when she wouldn't eat.

As I was still trying to coax Rosie to eat, my cell phone rang. It was Erin.

"Hey Erin. Good morning. Did the girls have a good night?"

"Um, Jenna?" There was something in Erin's voice.

"What's the matter?"

"Jenna, Sam had a seizure," Erin said. "She's okay, I mean it's stopped, but, she's not conscious. It was only a minute twenty seconds."

Of course Erin would have timed it. Jill has epilepsy, so she'd know what to do.

"I'm on my way," I said. "Is she comfortable?"

"Philip moved her to the couch once she stopped seizing."

"Okay. I'm coming,"

"Should we call an ambulance? Has she had seizures before?"

"She had a couple after her accident in the fall. But she hasn't had any in a while."

"Oh," Erin said. "Okay. We won't call then."

I pulled Rosie out of her high chair and quickly carried her out to the car where I covered her with a blanket in her car seat.

The whole way to Jill's she kept saying Samantha's name.

I pulled into their driveway and took Rosie out of the car and ran into the house. Erin met me at the door.

"She's still not conscious. Are you sure you don't want to call an ambulance?"

"I'm sure. She takes a while to wake up. But she's usually okay.  Where's Jill?  Is she okay?"

"She's in her room. She's upset. She didn't know Sam has been having seizures."

"What do you mean?  They tell each other everything," I said.

"Apparently Sam never told Jill about this," Erin said.

I shook my head. I couldn't explain it.

"I'm sorry. I thought Sam would have told Jill. If I'd known she hadn't I would have given you a heads up. I'm guessing they stayed up really late?  Sam's seizures have either been triggered by extreme fatigue or extreme emotional drama. Her last one was when her birth mom's brother showed up on Christmas."

"Jill told me about that, the uncle," Erin said.

I went to where Erin showed me where Sam way laying. I sat down on the couch and looked her over.

"SaSa!" Rosie said, and began repeating her name.

"Rosie says Samantha's name?" Erin said.

"She does. Well, she calls her SaSa, but it was her first word. Before 'Mama' and she still hasn't said 'Dada'.  Much to Tyler's chagrin," I said, lightly rubbing Samantha's arm.

"Samantha, hey, honey. Rosie and I are here. Wake up, hon," I said.

"We've tried that," Erin said. "Obviously."

"I'm sure. I know," I sighed.

"I could help you get her home," Philip said. "I could put her in your car or mine, then carry her into your house. I'm sure she'd be more comfortable there when she wakes up."

"I'd hate to put you out, but with Tyler out of town, I think that might be our best option. Thank you so much. I'm so sorry about all of this. Please let Jill know that I'm sure Samantha had a reason not to tell her about her seizures."

"We will," Erin said. "You know we're here for you if you need anything. Especially when Tyler is away."

"Thank you so much," I reiterated, as Philip picked up Samantha's unconscious body and Erin handed me her overnight bag.

"Her extra insulin is in there, too," she told me.

I nodded as I carried a squirmy Rosie out to our car. Philip was leaning back the passenger seat and buckling Samantha in while I buckled Rosie into her car seat.

"SaSa? SaSa SaSa SaSa," Rosie kept singing. Samantha didn't stir.

When we got to the house, Philip helped carry Sam in and placed her on the couch. I covered her with a blanket and thanked him again.

"If you need anything, just call. Erin or I will come over," he said.

"You guys are just amazing," I said, tears forming in my eyes. "I'm so sorry this happened."

"We just want to make sure she's okay. Let us know when she wakes up, okay?" Philip said, giving me a hug.

"I will. Thanks again," I said.

I put Rosie on Samantha and sat on the couch hoping she'd wake up. I knew seizures could knock her out, and I was hoping she'd wake sooner than later. But I decided if she was still unconscious in an hour I was calling an ambulance.

I stayed beside her, rubbing her arm while Rosie lay on Samantha.

Eventually, she began to stir. I grabbed Rosie in case Samantha sat up fast.

She opened her eyes and looked around.

"Where am I?" She asked.

"You're home, darling," I said, looking at her. "You had a seizure at Jill's and they couldn't wake you up. Philip helped me bring you home.

Samantha started crying. I pulled her up and into a hug.

"I didn't want Jill to know!" She cried.

"But why, honey?" I asked.

"Because she might not want to be my friend anymore. Because, well, you know."

I sighed as I rubbed her back. She was still afraid of being abandoned by people because she's 'too much trouble'.

I held her and hugged her as she calmed down. Rosie kept patting her arm.

"SaSa," Rosie said.
