the sweetest revenge (eren x reader)

plan A; mission accomplished! ... what now?

*AUTHOR'S NOTE; a little bit more angst in this chapter. nothing to cry over... well I'm not crying at least. it's nothing major, just a small sting on y/n's part. also I've formatted the texts between characters differently, as i've seen other fanfics lay them out in this way. i thought i would try it. that's all, enjoy!:)*

"A broadcast?" Eren asks. You turn your head to Eren, who has a confused look on his face.
"I never made any type of broadcast." Hange says.
"What?" you ask. An immense amount of anxiety hits you.
"You didn't? But... I wasn't imagining it, I swear! I know I was high, but it was real." you say.
"I believe you." Eren says, pacing back and forth.
"Me too." Hange adds, removing their gloves and goggles.
"A broadcast... what was in it exactly? Did it say anything?" Eren asks you.
"It was just shots of Hange's lab and the titan fluids out of their case. There was a voice... it was disoriented, though. Like how Saw's is in the Saw movies. It said something like 'we know the truth' and 'we'll take it back in time' or something along those lines. It was really weird." you reply.
"The truth?" Hange repeats. You look over at them and nod. Hange furrows their brow in confusion.
"I know it doesn't make sense, but-" A loud bang interrupts you. You all whip your heads to Hange's lab door. It came from the other side.
"Odd timing." Eren says out loud.
"HEY, WHO'S THERE!" Hange yells, your anxiety flaring more than it already was.
"Oi, Erwin! Watch your damn step!" You hear Levi's voice say.

You sigh in relief.
"OHHHHH! LEVI, ERWIN! COME INNNN!" Hange squeals.
"DOOR'S UNLOCKED!" Commander Erwin Smith and Captain Levi Ackerman walk into Hange's lab.
"I apologize for that disturbance. I tripped on... this?" Erwin says, holding what looks like a small jar lid.
"Huh, I'm not sure where that's from." Hange says.
"I don't think I'm missing any lids."
"I didn't even see that when we walked in." you say to Eren, turning you head to him.
"Neither did I." Eren replies, shrugging his shoulders.
"Why are these two here?" Levi snarls.
"You're in a bad mood today, Captain." you say, crossing your arms in front of your chest.
"Erwin and I were in the middle of something important when Four Eyes asked us to come down." Levi replies. Eren lets out a muffled laugh.
"Important, riiiiiight. Cuz Erwin poun- GACKKK!" You interrupt Eren with a swift punch in the stomach.
"Y/n, your left hook has gotten better. Well done." Levi says. You turn your head to Levi to see a faint smile on his face.
"Kaccc! Ack, ugh. What the hell was that for?" Eren groans, wrapping his arms around his stomach.
"For being an idiot! Now isn't the time!" you reply.
"But it would've been funny, so it's okay." you whisper in Eren's ear, smiling at him.
"Levi is right, Hange. We were going over training papers. What do you want to show us?" Erwin asks.
"Well... I didn't think you guys were coming, so I didn't wait to show all of you all at once." Hange says, rubbing the back of their neck.
"BUT I'LL DO IT AGAIN, COME CLOSER!"
"Do what again?" Levi asks as him and Erwin walk closer to you, Eren and Hange.
"What the hell is this about?"
"Levi, manners." Erwin sternly says, turning his head to Levi.
"Tch. I'm cooped up here with a goddamn crazy scientist and two brats when I could be doing more important things." Levi scoffs.
"THIS IS IMPORTANT, LEVI! WATCHHHHH!" Hange shouts.

Hange performs the experiment that they had just showed you and Eren again on the same bone.
"What the hell is this? What does it have in it, something like sulfuric acid?" Levi questions, getting a closer look at the bone that now has two holes burned into it.
"No... I think I've come across a new element of some sort. Whatever is in it doesn't match anything on the periodic table." Hange replies.
"How unusual... a new element, you say? A type that only does any kind of damage to bones... unless ingested and a titan shifter uses some sort of power that it holds." Erwin says, standing beside Levi and observing the bone.
"Can I pick it up?"
"With gloves, yes." Hange replies, nodding. Erwin tosses on a pair of gloves and pick up the bone.
"Interesting. It burned two holes straight through, but did nothing to that tray you had put it on." Erwin says, turning the bone around while he examines it.
"You should get Armin in here. I'm sure he would be useful to you."
"That's what I was thinking!" Hange exclaims.
"I'm sure he has a lot to say about this. I'm hoping he can figure out exactly what's in these liquids."
"What type of bone is this?" Erwin questions.
"It's a human femur." Hange replies.
"Human? I told you to stop digging up those unmarked graves, Four Eyes." Levi scoffs.
"They're important to my research though!" Hange whines.
"Have you tried this on a spine?" Erwin asks. Hange shakes their head.
"No, not yet. I was just telling Eren and y/n about how it may be dangerous, since the titan fluid comes from the spine." they say.
"Hey, I actually don't know how you even got these liquids! How did you manage to get all of the fluid out?" you ask, curious to get an answer.
"It was long and fucking painful." Eren says, leaning against Hange's table.
"We took the liquid out of the spine, of course!" Hange exclaims.
"Yeah, by taking out the fucking spine." Eren says.
