*AUTHOR'S NOTE; hey guys, so there is a flashback in this chapter that deals with physical & verbal abuse. also, there is some talks of torture in this, which may be a bit gory for some people. reader also contemplates self harm, but doesn't do it.  just a tw, please be cautious reading this if you're easily triggered by any of those things. anyways, enjoy brats!*

"You're getting closer." A female voice says to you.
"I see having that selenite helps, good."
"I'm here again? What is this place?" you ask. You still can't see the girl who's talking, but you're back in the same place you're always in.
"Am I dead?"
"No, silly. You can't die right now." The voice replies.
"I could be dead, though."
"No, y/n. You literally can't die right now."

"What?" you ask.
"She doesn't know what you mean yet." A deeper voice says.
"She still can't see the memories clearly yet."
"Let her see one of yours, then." The female voice scoffs.
"Well, she SHOULD be able to see hers clear enough." The male voice scoffs back.
"I can't control that, you know."
"You literally could if you wanted to."
"They're bickering like siblings." you think to yourself.

"Can you just tell me where am I? Why can I only come here when I'm sleeping?" you ask.
"Cuz you can't come here by yourself yet." The female voice says.
"Don't you think you're saying too much? She isn't gonna get it right now." The male voice says.
"Uh, I'm in charge here, not you."
"Do you really want her to see things she's not ready to see yet?" You hear the female voice give a loud sigh.

"Okay, okay. You're right. Y/n... you'll be back. And hopefully, you can get closer. Also, you aren't a dumbass, y/n. Remember that."
"Closer to what?" you ask, but you don't get a response. You're left in complete silence for what feels like hours, then you suddenly hear loud scream.

You jolt awake, feeling hot and sweaty.
"My head is pounding." you think to yourself.
"Where am I? What... happened?" You start gaining your vision back.
"I'm... on a floor?"  You look around, seeing you aren't alone.
"Levi, Armin, Mikasa, Reiner... they're all here too? Where is here?" You look around the building, seeing that it seems like some sort of underground cellar.

"You finally came to. Took ya long enough." Ymir, who is right beside you says.
"Ymir, where are we? What the fuck is going on?" you ask.
"Was someone just screaming?"
"Yeah, well like a half an hour ago. It was Annie." Ymir responds.
"Annie? Where is she?"
"Over there." Ymir moves her head to show the direction Annie is in, that's when you realize your wrists are tied behind your back.

Annie's mouth is gagged, her face red and wet with tears.
"What happened?" you ask.
"Why is she gagged?"
"All the titan shifters are." Ymir replies. You find Armin, Porco, and Reiner. All of them have some sort of cloth in the mouths.
"And Annie was screaming cuz they took her fingernails off." Ymir adds.

"What?" You're in shock, you don't know what to say.
"They did it to the other shifters too, expect for Armin. He's still out of it. So they don't try making themselves bleed to turn" Ymir says.
"Oh my god." you say under your breath. You turn your head to see who's beside you, and you see Levi.

"Captain." you say. He turns his head to you, his face bruised.
"Hey, brat. You're awake." he says back.
"About time."
"My back stings." you breathe.
"Did they fucking slash me with a whip or something?"
"What? No. You and Armin are the only ones that haven't been touched, and that's because Armin's still knocked out. I'm sure once he wakes up, they'll take his nails off, too." Levi replies.
