The way that The knife was pressed into Kaze's back, was precise.

Normally Kaze would not worry much. What was Rex, 5'2? The rex he knew didn't train at all.
And even if Rex did pick up training, Kaze had no doubt he could take the boy. He was trained better than that. To try not to be even scared when faced with a knife. So besides the initial shock of Rex pulling a knife on him, there shouldn't be any hesitation in the situation. Kaze shouldn't be nervous. But the way that the knife was positioned. A certain place on the shoulder blade, pointed down and out of reach, the position of Rex's hands on the knife that showed in Kaze' stepped forward, Rex would put his weight on the knife through the back. And if Kaze tried to turn around he would simply be putting the blade in himself. It was so tactful, and a brilliant move.
And it was Kaze's. That was his technique. One he created during training, One his mothers showed him for defense. How to keep someone hostage from behind. How to protect yourself with it. Everything that Rex was doing with that knife. Kaze taught him it. He was sure of it. It was a Hino technique down to the bone. It made the entire experience that much more trippy. Kaze was stunned. Of everything in that moment. Of Rex finding him out so so easily. Of the knife that Rex put to his back, and of course, the most obvious, Rex asking him where the fuck his husband was. All Kaze could do was put his arms up in the air in defense. "Rex." He spoke in a calm, collected tone, despite the fact his mind was breaking. He didn't want to edge Rex on. "This is a misunderstanding. It's me. It's Kaze." He assured him, hoping to prove himself right. He could see Rex gritting his teeth from over his shoulder. "You're lying!" He barked out. "Every day, every day when Kaze comes home, no matter if he's sick or tired, he always, ALWAYS, leaves his training weapons at the door. He promised me he would. And he always," His hand tightens on the blade. "He wouldn't go to bed without kissing me. He almost always kisses me at the door- and he-" He seemed to be choked up. "And he would never go to bed without seeing Emiko. Even if she's asleep, no matter what he would go and say goodnight to her." Kaze couldn't speak anymore. His mouth and throat were dry. Kiss at the door? Kaze was starting to feel sick. There was no way this could be happening right now. The way Rex was phrasing everything right now. All of it- it sounded like Kaze was Rex's husband. And that- That just couldn't be true. Kaze slowly put his arms up in a surrendering way, even further. He was sure he could think of a way to get out of the knife holder, but not one that wouldn't hurt rex. Surrendering was his best option right now. He swallowed hard. What was he supposed to do? He was right. He wasn't this Kaze. So he did the only thing he could do. Tell the truth. "Look, Rex. It is me. I swear. I'm Kaze Hino. I'm just not the one you're expecting." "What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Rex snapped. There was no amount of thinking that would suddenly make whatever he had to say make sense. He just had to make sure he didn't sound crazy when he was saying this. God, he almost wanted to punch himself for sounding this fucking stupid. "I'm not fucking from this time." He was losing his patience and letting his anger slip through. He couldn't help it. This past few hours he's been fucking tired and confused and now he had a fucking knife at his back from a guy that was SUPPOSED to be harmless. The anger came too naturally. Rex narrowed his eyes, his face stretching in confusion. "If you think you are gonna fool me with stupid tricks like that-" "It's true! I fucking swear! So take the knife off me, Rex!" He barked. Rex started to glare and prodded the knife more into him, which made Kaze get quiet real quick. Not because he was scared, but he realized that yelling at Rex in this situation wasn't getting him anywhere. Rex eyed him up and down. "If you're Kaze..." He paused. "Prove it." He hissed. Kaze glared. How the fuck was he supposed to prove he was Kaze? What kind of question is that. There was no other way to prove it. He was just... Kaze and this entire situation were pissing him more and more off. "And how the fuck am I supposed to do that?" He questioned. He hated being this angry at Rex, but this wasn't the same Rex he knew. This was someone entirely different. A braver Rex, a more attractive Rex, a more intimidating one. Rex was quiet for a bit. "Where did we meet?" Kaze answered immediately. "I came to that stupid castle to check in on my sister, you were in charge of housing me in the butler's quarters or whatever." This didn't seem like a good enough question for Rex, because he continued. "Who are my Best friends?" He pressed further. This answer was a little tricker, as far as he was concerned, Rex could have gotten a whole bunch of new friends. But any hesitation made him look stupid. "It's May, and that Vel guy," Kaze remembered them being pretty close as well as the rest of the extras that he barely remembered the names to. He remembered Hana but only because of his late Aunt. Rex paused a little more like even then nothing was clicking. Kaze was growing more and more impatient. But finally, Rex looked up with this determined face, and Kaze knew it probably meant he thought of the perfect question. Kaze felt the knife turn a bit as if Rex was determining its location based on the answer. There was this cocky look almost as if he was sure that Kaze wouldn't know the answer to the question he was about to ask. "Okay, back when you and Sayuri, during one of your training sessions with your mom, something happened on the east hill, and you swore you'd never tell anyone about it. What was it?" He asked cockily. Kaze's eyes grew wide and he remained motionless. The anger quickly simmers and is immediately replaced with a full-body embarrassment. His heart shivered as his face turned a complete red, his face horrified as he looked at Rex. "I Told you that!?!?" He asked horrified. There was no way that this could be real. How in God's hell did Rex know about that? He swore he could die from embarrassment right there, which made him wanna take the world out with him. The reaction must have been genuine enough because Rex's face morphed one of complete surprise, his eyebrows raised and his eyes wide. The knife loosened against Kaze's back and in a second, Rex's hand was on his body. He took Kaze's rim of his shirt and quickly rose it, exposing his chest. The action was so surprising and Kaze was so close to knocking Rex on his side. What the fuck was he doing?! Kaze was still trying to get over the whole hill thing. Normally Rex wouldn't even get the chance to land a hand on him. Rex stared at his chest in shock, complete and utter shock, and when Kaze looked down, he realized what Rex was looking for. A large wide scar stretched across his chest. Definitely a good indicator. Rex's hand dropped to his side, his face stretched out in complete shock. "Oh my god... you really are him..." He spoke almost to himself, unable to believe the words in his mouth. Relief washed over Kaze as he let out a big sigh, happy to have the knife away from him now. He never pictured Rex would be so... intimidating. Rex was always the soft guy, it just didn't make sense that he had gotten this strong. Rex rested his hand with the blade on his hip, the other hand combing back his hair in distress. When He rested his hand on his hip, Kaze could notice the extra curve of his hip. Despite being in such a dire situation he couldn't help but lock eyes with it. DAMMIT KAZE FOCUS. "But how-?" Rex looked at him lost. "That's not even possible." He said in disbelief. Kaze let out a grumbled sigh and put his hand on his head as he closed his eyes. "How the fuck am I supposed to know? I'm just as confused as you are." Rex just stared at the ground, not exactly knowing what to say. The silence filled the room and settled. Either of them does not knows exactly what to say. Suddenly, Rex looked up in confidence. He grabbed Kaze by the hand and pulled him to the living room sitting on the couch. Kaze was so shocked that he didn't stop him until they were on the couch. "Okay... I'm a little slow... so you might have to explain to me a bit. Okay? I'll listen but-" When he sat, his knees were pressed together and his fists clutched onto his pants, almost like he was scared. "But you are talking about actual time travel Kaze, So understand if I'm a little... Untrusting right now."  He felt so ashamed to say that. But Kaze understood. If someone came up and told him they were from the past. He thinks they were nuts and tells them to get the fuck away from him/ But yet here they were. Rex now knew he was from the past, and as he looked at him so earnestly, Kaze realized that this 5'2 guy was one of the only ways he can finally figure out what the fuck is going on. Someone who could help him. Besides... Kaze had a whole lot of fucking questions for him too. So he explained, explained everything. Well, everything he could explain. About how he suddenly woke up at the Lotus castle this morning. That he felt awful and confused out of his mind because everyone he knew looked so much older and had kids. He couldn't help but let his anger out a little as he explained, the frustration plain in his voice. Rex just sat there and listened carefully, taking the moment to take it all in, really trying his best to believe it. "Okay.. okay.." Rex said as if he was forcing himself to process it farther and farther. His expression seemed equally confused and pained. Kaze could see the gears turning in his head.    Rex's hand reached to hold Kaze's without realizing, not even looking at him.  "It's okay. We will figure it out." He was still looking at the floor with that confused pained face, but his words were comforting and so sure. Kaze felt the warmness of Rex's hand, the comfort, and warmth of it all. How natural he reached over to grab it. He never realized how small Rex's hand really was compared to his. Sure he has held Rex's hand before. The kid was always dragging him around everywhere. But this was different. There was a formality to it, there was a routine. This was so normal it hurt.  It frightened him as he pulled away quickly. Because it felt wrong. Because he didn't know this rex. Because- he didn't like being touched that much and- Rex quickly turned his head in shock as Kaze pulled away. He seemed completely surprised by the reaction, almost offended. Like that wasn't something Kaze ever did. You could see some gears rolling in his head. "Kaze... How long ago are you from?" He asked, wearily, almost scared of the answer. "Um, just after the king's coronation, maybe a month after?" Kaze shifted uncomfortably. He was always confused with era's dates and stuff because they always aligned with the king's rise to power and such. The clan had a different way of telling dates and such. Rex's face paled as he jumped back from Kaze against the forearm on the couch. "What!?" He exclaimed in shock. "But that'," he stuttered. "That's when we like were barely friends! That was before we went to my country and-" He stopped midsentence and look at his feet. He was quiet, almost ashamed. "I'm sorry you must feel so freaked out right now." He sighed. There was some sort of relief that washed over Kaze. Like yes, someone finally understood. This entire situation was super wrong. He was beyond freaked out, and for some reason, Rex apologizing for it was super comforting. It didn't make the situation any better, but it definitely did help. Kaze slowly nodded to Rex, and they began to sit in awkward silence together. How the fuck are you supposed to talk when you just told someone you are from a past where you barely know each other? Rex must be so confused now too. Even still... There were still so many questions burning on Kaze's mind. And with someone knowing who he was now, this might be his own chance to actually ask them. "So... We're married." He just... needed to confirm if what he was hearing was really right, or if he was truly going crazy. Rex turned suddenly, surprised, his cheeks dusting red as he looked back to his lap. "Ya..." He drags out. More silence. Holy shit. It was real. This had to be some sort of dream. There is no way this is real. Fuck thinking he was in the future. He must have been some form of a crooked reality. He and Rex... actually married in the future. But how? He hadn't even known Rex was gay, must less imagine that the guy would turn to like him. He couldn't help his emotions at the moment. His heart was hammering in his chest as he sat there in disbelief. His face was a little hot. It was a pretty big slap to the face. Oh ya, that small crush that was beginning to develop on an unachievable guy you barely knew? Oh ya, that works out by the way. You guys are happily married in a house together where you kiss and- UGH EVEN IMAGINING IT SEEMED IMPOSSIBLE. Future Rex seemed equally uncomfortable as she shifted with both his hands in the air. "Look I know this is super weird and I know you probably weren't expecting to marry a guy, much less someone you barely know but um, if there's any way I can help you feel more comfortable-" He cut himself off, not really knowing what else to say. Kaze looked the future rex up and down once more. He didn't think there was anything that could mildly make him remotely comfortable.  Right now he was stuck in this future/bizarre world where he hadn't half a clue of how it got here, and now the only person who knows is a soon-to-be husband of his current small crush. "I-" he didn't know what the say, to really reply with it. He put his elbows on his knees and his head in his hand. He looked hard at the floor in complete defeat. "I just wanna go home." Was the cold honest truth... Everything here was giving him the biggest headache ever. It was too much to process and it was really pissing him off. He wanted to go blow off some steam. Go workout or spare or fucking anything to take away from this crushing reality. But the truth was he couldn't do that even if he wanted to. He was sure even a simple run would give him more and more to be confused and angry about. He missed fucking everything. It didn't matter if this future seemed nice. Right now it felt like hell on earth. He didn't get to see his fucking sister get married for christ's sake. He missed so much and had so many questions that he felt his brain was gonna break. He just wanted to go home. Go back to bed. Go back to normal things, where the only thing he had to question that day was what he was gonna have for breakfast.    Kaze's moved his gaze a bit when he heard an impact on the floor in front of him. He peeked up from his hands to see Rex in up straight pose. His hands were on his hips and his chin up. "Okay! Then we'll get you home lickity split!" He smiled widely, determined. He pumped his fist like he was about to start a war. "There's got to be something we can do. No doubt about it we will get you back to your time in no time." He chuckles at his own joke and looks back to Kaze, there was a determination stretched across his features, laced with the small sympathy in his eyes. "I promise Kaze," he told him. Kaze's heart skipped a beat. It... it really was Rex. As Rex has he had ever been. That stupid blinding optimism even in the face of hopelessness. And that unforgettable care that you would be able to recognize from a mile away. Kaze was sure this situation wasn't exactly easy for him either, but here he was saying promises that he couldn't really keep. It was dumb, and out on anyone else's mouth, Kaze would scream at him for giving him false hope. But because it was Rex, Kaze actually thought there might be a little hope. He exhaled loudly from his mouth, hoping that would be a good enough response for Rex. Turns out it was indeed good enough, because Rex turned around and crouched next to him to get on eye-level, his arms across his knees as he looked up with a smile. "It's kinda late tonight, so let's just eat and go to bed, kay? Tomorrow we'll start our hunt for a way back." Kaze found that to be the best answer he could look for. He was beyond exhausted, and tired beyond hell. He wouldn't even know where to start on the search and getting time to process this shit was gonna do him a lot of help when it came to focusing on the goal at hand. He took a deep breath and nodded, standing to his feet. That food had been smelling pretty good for a while. Maybe over dinner, he could ask a little more questions to help fill the gaps. Rex seemed pretty patient at the moment and this might be a perfect time. As Kaze was about to walk towards the source of the smell, he was stopped. Rex had grabbed him firmly by the wrist, firmly, stopping him from walking forward. When Kaze looked back, he saw a different emotion stretched across Rex's features. He seemed uncomfortable and rather serious. It was similar to the face he had when he put the knife to Kaze's back. It was a worry but a protectiveness, one that he really couldn't get used to seeing on Rex's face. "Kaze's there is more to this future you should know about before we eat." There was a worry in his voice, but a sternness that followed it. Like he was walking down a scary path but knew he had to do it anyways. Kaze's stomach dropped a bit. What fucking more could he actually have to deal with before he could get some fucking food in his stomach. He was tired of the twist and turns. He thought maybe he could hold off on any mind-breaking twists for a bit. But sadly that wasn't true. Rex didn't have to explain. It seemed like fate had it in plan anyways. With the patter of footsteps and a sound from the back of the house approaching at top speed, someone swept into the threshold of the living room, standing at the front of the hallway. Kaze shifted to a fighting stance, which is really his stance to get ready for anything. Except nothing could really make him ready for what and who exactly appeared. He was not, and repeat, was not, expecting a small girl to turn the corner and stare up at them. She was incredibly young. Kaze would guess the girl would probably be about 3-4 maybe, but it was really hard to tell at this age. Her skin was on the darker side, rosy in the cheeks. She had brunette hair was short at the ears and long in the front as they curtain two beautiful big eyes. And when those beautiful eyes landed on him, the kid's face absolutely lit up. "Daddy!" She cheered with that childish slur to her words, running towards him with open arms. Kaze stopped breathing and moving completely. Stuck in a shell of shock and absolute dread, his eyes wide and his face completely paled. The kid wrapped her small arms around his leg in a tight hug. He could hear his heartbeat in his head. This can't be happening. This can't be real. No. No way in fucking hell. Being married to Rex was hard enough to believe. But a child? A fucking child? Kaze was always the absolute worst with kids, how could be possible to have a kid in the future. The kid looked up at him in glee, and when Kaze met it his heartstrings pulled without him even meaning to. He didn't attempt to hug the kid back, no rather he was completely scared of even touching her in the slightest. Rex could tell him unforgettable fear and was quick to try and resolve the situation. He leaned over to the child. "Awe Emiko, I know you are so excited to see daddy, but he's a little tired today, okay?" His expression and voice completely changed. It was like he was a true natural, so easily capable of changing for this little girl. The girl, Emiko, looked up at Kaze again a little confused before letting him go and grabbing hold of Rex instead, putting another enormous smile on and nodding. "Feel better daddy~!" She showed her pearly teeth. Rex smiled genuinely and patted the top of her head, his fingers brushing some of her bangs out of her face. "How about you go wash up, kay Kuren? Go wash your hands so we can eat delicious food. Daddy and I have to finish our convo." Emiko's eyes lit up at the sound of food, her face already practically drooling from the thought. She nodded so vigorously that Kaze thought she might actually fall over from the weight of her head. She was quick to run out of the room to presumably the bathroom to wash her hands. Kaze couldn't help it anymore, he thought the shock would render his legs useless as he sat back down on the couch. His hands clutched his head and locked in with his hair, pulling at it just a bit, hoping it might take him out of this nightmare. As soon as the girl was out of earshot he couldn't help the anger that escaped. "We have a fucking child?" he questioned, not exactly to Rex but to the whole damn universe. Hell maybe even to himself to convince himself. Rex cleared his throat, almost as if he was afraid to answer. But his voice was surprisingly clear of any fear. "Ya, we do. Her name is Emiko. She's about to turn five." He told him. Five. She's about to be five. Holy fucking shit. Rex stood over him, grabbed him by the arm, and pulled him up. He sounded a little angry with his tone. "Look Kaze, I know all of this must be really confusing and hard to swallow. I get it. But I don't need Emiko getting involved in this future mambo-jumbo. She's just a kid, and I don't need her packing because her actual dad is gone and replaced by a young one." He said sternly. "We need to save this kind of talk for later. For now, for the love of God, please just try and act like nothing is wrong." Anger fumed in Kaze. How dare he say for him to keep himself together. He was doing fucking well despite the circumstances. It was rather insulting. But meeting Rex's stern face again, the anger melted to his toes. He could recognize the look on his face now. He knew what it meant. It was the look of a dad. All this time, the knife to the back and everything. He's really just trying to protect his kids at all cost, even if it was against a younger Kaze. It was weird, seeing Rex act like this. Considering he never really thought of Rex as a dad. But a part of him respected the guy for having such guts and could admire how much fatherhood changed the guy. Sure it still peeved him, but it was equally as shocking. He rolled his eyes and grumbled. "Like I wasn't going to." He said under his breath just enough for Rex to hear. Rex let out a relieved sigh, glad that he didn't have to argue for it anymore. While Kaze was originally looking forward to eating, as he sat at that dining room table, Rex across from him and Emiko in the chair next to him eating away; he found himself at a loss of appetite, something that never happens. Rex didn't seem hungry either, since half of his plate was barely touched.Emiko on the otherhand waqs eating her full. "And then, then! Daddy and I got to paint. And I painted a butterfly, and it was really nice. And then we let them dry in the sun. And then we got to hang them on the wall." She giggled, doing her best to recount every single thing that she and Rex did today on their daddy-daughter day. Kaze had zoned out during half of it because he was too busy being absolutely flabbergasted at the scene. Rex was laughing at the story and nodding. "That right honey," he giggled, finding her childish word talk absolutely amusing. Also like second nature he picked up the napkin next to him and reached to wipe the muck off her face, remnants from the mashed potato. They just seemed so at peace, so happy. Emiko has no idea of the situation and she was in pure bliss, but even Rex knowing the situation was still all smiles despite it. They were like... a normal nice family. It's not like Kaze didn't know that was like. He was close to his mom and his sisters, but with all the clan stuff and without his dad and his mom doing a lot for the Hino clan, he missed out on a lot of normal family stuff like this. In fact, he thought this kind of shit was overrated and stupid. Fucking cheesy to the core and fake. No family could really be like this. But here he was. Apparently, this was his future. And for some reason, he wasn't angry about it. Not in the slightest. In fact, he wondered why he ever thought it was cheesy in the first place. Apparently, Emiko must have finished her story of the day, because Rex gave him a death glare from across the table for not replying immediately. Kaze cleared his throat immediately and acted like he was still chewing a piece of food. "That sounds like fun," he tried to make his voice more convincing, but he found it hard to really give genuinely give fatherly love when he was still wrapping his brain around the fact that she really was his kid in the future. Emiko had the biggest smile on her face and put her arms on the edge of her seat, sitting higher in her chair. "It would have been more fun if other Daddy was there!" She gleamed. It was like an arrow to the heart. Kaze had never really appreciated kids, they were mostly loud and annoying. But with her calling him daddy and saying cute shit like that, how could he not think she was absolutely adorable. Ah, fuck this kid! Making him fall for her charms. Putting him under her cute little spell. Emiko continued eating like it was nothing, but Kaze was just staring at her. Rex must have taken notice because he cleared his throat and leaned against the table closer to Kaze to whisper while Emiko was distracted. "Try just eating just a bit, please? I sweat after is Emiko's bedtime." The voice was full of nothing but concern. Surely the Kaze of this time liked his food just as much because Rex kept eyeing Kaze's plate like it was an alien from another planet. The concern was sweet enough to get Kaze to try and eat despite the war in his mind. And damn was that food good. Thankfully after a painfully long time, dinner was over. Rex was cleaning up and doing some of the dishes, Kaze was helping put leftovers away because it would just be odd to stand around and watch him do everything. "Okay Kuren~ It's time for bed~" Rex smiled and leaned down to scoop the girl up in his arms, carrying her at his hip. Emiko immediately pouted, shaking her head and babbling a poor excuse to stay up. "Oh come on, look how tired you are! You gotta sleep good so you can have fun at daycare tomorrow." He ruffled her hair. She simply stared at him a bit before struggling, a sign that she clearly wanted to be put down. He let her down reluctantly, and she wounded up at Kaze's side. She tugged at his pants again, a bright smile back on her face. "Tuck me in Daddy!" She exclaimed happily, less of a question and rather a demand. Immediately Rex and Kaze exchanged worried looks. Tuck her in? Kaze didn't know how to do that. It's not like he had time to pull Rex aside and ask him how exactly to do it. And worse, it's not like he could just tell her no or suggest Rex doing it. Obviously, it would upset her, Kaze is supposed to be her dad! Even if he didn't mind upsetting her, he was sure rex would be pretty angry at him. And he had no idea why but this future rex was a lot more intimidating than the past one. He looked between rex and the child for a bit, but Rex's face looked like he didn't know what to do either. He swallowed hard before nodding. "Of course," he did his best to force a smile on her. Apparently, it worked because she didn't question it. Kaze thought that she might be waiting for him to pick her up, but that never happened so she eventually took his hand and dragged her to her room, Rex close behind.     The room was definitely a kid's room. All purple and sweet. The room was completely dark except for a nightlight in the corner of the room. She didn't seem that afraid of the dark though. Her walls were covered in fake little stars and little kid drawings. There were a few drawings on there that was actually pretty well done, definitely not something a little kid would draw. He assumed Rex probably drew those, and that the painting over her headboard was definitely painted professionally because it was an absolutely gorgeous painting. Emiko dragged Kaze to the bed, making him sit at the end of it and jump up on the bed, getting under the covers herself and making sure she was perfect, ready for the tuck. One of the most determined kids he had ever met. Rex watched from the doorway carefully, he was worried but he still had a small smile on his face because of how absolutely adorable she was. Apparently, he has been under her spell for quite a time. She wait expectantly, and this is where Kaze started to really panic. But he could feel rex looking at his back. So he let out a breath and scoots closer. Trying to be as gentle as he could, he tucks the blanket around her under her so she's all nice and cozy. And squirms a bit in delight before settling, closing her eyes in a smile. "All good?" Kaze asked her in a whisper. She nodded excitedly, snuggling into the bed. And with that, there was a weird weight lifted from his shoulders that he didn't know was there. He just looked at how peaceful she looked. She grabbed hold of his hand without realizing, taking hold of one of his fingers and looking like she was drifting off. Kaze felt his heart stammer a bit. Her peaceful breathing. "Night Daddy, Love you."    His heart squeezed at the words, as he waited a second before whispering a "Love you too," Knowing he pretty much had to. Kaze hadn't noticed Rex come up to the other side of the bed, where he brushed Emiko's bangs to the side and kissed her on the forehead. With the girl's eye closed, she couldn't tell it was Rex, which was probably for the best. Soon after she drifted asleep the two found a way to sneak out of the room without waking her up. After the two of them released probably the biggest breath of air. Kaze grumbled. "Yesterday I was training, now I'm tucking in my fucking future daughter," he said in disbelief. Rex couldn't help himself as he doubled over and clutched his stomach laughing. Kaze thought it was a bit dramatic since his joke couldn't have been THAT funny, but after such a stressful and confusing day, Kaze was sure the laugh was well needed for Rex. And seeing him laugh like that, it was so pretty. He really couldn't get enough of that outfit. Rex wiped the tear from his face and let go of his stomach. "You must be exhausted after today." He told him. All Kaze could do was simply nod. Rex lead him to his bedroom and it was at that moment that Kaze realized something very very important. Kaze did have a bed in this house. So did Rex. And they were married. Which meant that the bed was probably the same. He didn't think about it completely until he was staring it in the face, completely motionless. Rex walked into the bedroom like normal, heading to the closet to look for something for Kaze to wear for the night, guess he wasn't really thinking about the bed problem. He probably didn't think it was a problem. I mean it shouldn't be a problem, but Kaze was on complete edge anyways. Rex didn't realize that Kaze had a problem till he turned around and saw Kaze just staring at him. He immediately jumped and put his hands in front of him. "Oh um it's a big bed! Don't worry or anything we'll sleep on either side. We can even put a pillow in the middle!" He blushed all embarrassed. Kaze swallowed. He wasn't a fucking elementary school kid, he shouldn't be overthinking it. "It's whatever." he blew off, trying to convince Rex and himself that this wasn't totally fucking weird. He begrudgingly sat at the end of the bed. Rex stood over what seemed like a closet sort cabinet and opened it to pull out a few clothes. "You must be really tired, let me get you some PJs and you can go straight to bed," Rex told him determined. Kaze eyed him a let out a huff, leaning back on his hands and gazing around the room. "Really tired doesn't cover it. I've time travel meeting my future child and then my future husband puts a knife to my back." He said, purposely saying the last part a little louder. He knew he shouldn't be picking fights, but that wasn't something easily dropped. Rex huffed back, going over a few options of clothes in his hand. "For your information, the whole knife and questioning bit are all you." He told him, looking at Kaze behind him through the mirror in front of him. Kaze was a little surprised, and Rex must have been able to tell because he continued. "Kaze, I mean you, are part of a powerful clan who constantly faces dangerous missions and people. We have a lot of weapons hidden and I've had a lot of defense classes. We have a child to protect, and we don't exactly take that with a grain of salt." It was weird for Kaze to hear about himself as if it was an entirely different human being. But it was still hard to swallow. After all, he had spent to entire night having to deal with Rex as a protective parent, and that was already weird enough, it was even weirder to him to hear that he was the same in those aspects, and like Rex, he really cared and was protective of his kid.     God, now he really was getting a headache. Rex tossed the clothes to Kaze, catching him out of his trance. Kaze looked down at his lap and back up at Rex who was smiling at him. "Sorry, I'm probably not doing the best at giving you time to process all of this stuff, if I am being honest I need time to process it as well. But mostly, no matter what time you are right now, I HATE seeing you so unhappy and frustrated." he pouts a little bit. Kaze feels his heart pick up a little, feeling stupid for getting swooned over such a small sentence, especially now knowing they are married. But even still, having someone care like this was sorta new in a weird way. It was different from how it is with his family. "Now go change and go to bed, you can go ahead and go to bed first, I still have some stuff from work to take care of." he smiled politely. Kaze knew Rex was full of it, Rex just said himself that he needed the rest. Rex was just saying it so that Kaze wouldn't have to worry about them sleeping together and could fall asleep first without having to worry about it. It was transparent, but it was... really, really sweet. Kaze would argue, but honestly, the favor might help. Rex rubbed the top of his head. "Night Kaze," he told him sweetly, walking out of the bedroom.     Kaze's face lit up pink as his heart started to race rapidly. He snatched the clothes up from Rex quickly and escaped to the bathroom to change, and potentially wash some water on his face. He might need the refresher, it was gonna be a long night.
