However, when the girl finally returned to the village after her 14 weeks of absence, the village had become entirely abandoned. Saddened but believing the villagers would return, the girl decided to wait one week before setting off again.
Unfortunately, after the week ended, no one had returned. Breaking her own promise, the girl decided to wait one more week, then another and then another until an entire year had passed and still no one had returned.
Now, unable to sustain herself off of the little remnants of the small village, the girl made the tearful decision to begin her journey back to the bountiful land for a second time. However, before leaving, she left a note that would allow those originally from the village—only those who had truly known the girl and loved her—to find the girl in the new land. Then, love and hope still brimming in her heart, the girl set off on her journey once more, singing the entire way.
