The sun blazing through the window and staring into my eyes made me squint as I tried to open them. I glanced down to the arm that laid across my stomach. Guessing the time, I decided on trying to gain a few more hours of sleep before the day would actually start. I closed my eyes and began to let my mind relax a phone on the bed side table began to buzz and buzz. In annoyance I rolled my eyes and then they made their way to see what the uncontrollable nonsense was all about. It was Jai's phone; with curiosity I read the caller I.D. Sheri? Who the fuck was Sheri? My heart began to pound and my blood instantly boiled. I was furious.
After three miss calls the mysterious Sheri decided to text MY boyfriend! At this point without even waking up Jai and trying to let him explain his side of the story, I immediately open his message.
My eyes widen and mouth drops to the floor. The mixed emotions that are going through my head are outrageous. I didn't want to believe what I saw, I repetitively read the words "your dealer dropped off your shipment to my house, come by grab it and drop off the 800 dollars."
I couldn't help but cry. The fact that the man I am in love with is not only doing but selling drug shattered my heart completely.
The sounds of my pain and whimpering must of woken Jai because suddenly I feel his arms hold me tighter and his eyes slowly ply open. "babe are you crying?" He asked. His voice was so sincere and caring, if only he knew the reason. So many thought storming in my head at once. Should I tell him what I saw? Should I scream and him and slap him across the face? I just needed answers.
I whipped my tears, collected myself and slowly passed him his phone with the message wide open. He took his phone and read the words that were pasted on the screen. His eyes were on the phone but mine never left his face, I watched him go from concerned to disappointed in only a few seconds.
"Hope..." he started but couldn't finished. There was a tear slowly sliding from my eye down my cheek. Jai tried to place his thumb on my cheek to wipe it away but his touch made me flinch. I threw myself off the bed to be as far away from him as possible.
"Let me explain, please." He begged and sat up on the bed.
"Explain the other woman or the drugs? Which one would be more convenient for you." I spat with so much sass.
"Woah woah, there's no other girl. you're my girl and it's only you." he assured me but the feeling in my gut said something different.
"Sheri?" I questioned him.
"A GUY friend from back home" emphasizing the word guy "I told him I would be in the area for a few days so he did me a favor."
"And his favor happened to be supplying you with drugs?"
"It's not what it seems!"
My voice got louder as I told him, "Jai, I'm not stupid! I don't know if you have forgotten but I am a FBI in training, I know a drug transaction when I see one."
"Okay, it is what it looks like but there's a good reason for it." he said calmly, trying to make this situation better.
"There's never going to be a good reason for this Jai! I can't believe you would put me in this type of position! If you got caught this could of ruined your whole future and mine as well! I'm done Jai! Get out!" Redness and anger had taken over my body and the loudness of my voice probably woke up the entire neighborhood but I couldn't help myself. I couldn't do this right now. I'd never felt so helpless and lost in my life.
****JAI POV****
"Okay, it is what it looks like but there's a good reason for it." I tried to calm her down and let her hear me out. If she knew this wasn't temporary. If she knew if was a way to make a good amount of money in a very short amount of time. If she only knew the money was for the most special thing any girl could dream of.
