I snuck out of the police department after the boys left and quickly drove home. I felt bad for stealing someone else's job and interviewing the boys but I had to be apart of this case! As I arrived home I ran upstairs and changed into sweats and a t shirt, I grabbed my laptop and sat on the couch. I began reading and searching anything and everything on who Gina Brooks is and what might of happened to her.

Her sons were very nice and even though I didn't know them I felt bad for them, I knew how it feels to be without a mother and I feel maybe this is the reason why I am so obsessed with this case.

*beep beep*

My phone vibrated, I had a text from an unknown number, the message went "Hope, I know you were just there to ask questions today but I'm home alone and I think someone is trying to break in -jai"

Holy fuck! What was I suppose to do I'm just a first year college student trying to pursue my dream, I didn't know what to but reply with "what's your address?" He quickly sent back. I ran to my dads room unlocked his safe and grabbed the keys to his old cop car. I drove as fast as I could to the address Jai had given me. As I arrive I turned on the sirens hoping and praying it would scare anyone who was there off. Jai was right someone was definitely trying to break in and I was right about the sirens scaring them off. I ducked down as a big buff man ran out from the side of the Brooks house. Once he was out of sight and down the street I ran up knocking the front door, "Melbourne Police" I yelled. What am I getting myself into? Jai opened the door slowly and fully opened it when he realized it was me. "is he gone?" Jai muttered. I just nodded as he let me enter inside his house. I was sort of shocked that jai would be acting this scared, I mean I understand I would be scared if someone tried breaking into my house but I'm just a short and skinny girl. Jai was taller of course but he was pretty ripped, his arms were perfectly in shape and I would be guessing but it looks like he would have a nice six pack going on under that shirt. His eyes were big and brown and his smile was probably one of the most beautiful I've seen on a guy. Wait what am I saying, I can't be thinking about how hot Jai Brooks is, I have to stay focus on his mom. Jai and I sat on his couch as I continued to ask questions. "Where are your brothers, why are you home alone?"I asked.

"They ran to the store to buy some protecting gear, we can't live here knowing people could be after us without protection."

"Why didn't you go with them?"

"Someone had to watch the house and I'm obviously the bravest." Jai gave a small smirk.

"Obviously." I laughed with sarcasm.

"I mean the only reason I called you was to see how reliable the authority's are. I could of took him on myself." He smirked again trying to act all confident. I just laughed at him. Was jai flirting or just being a cocky asshole? Wait it doesn't matter I'm not here for him.

"I think it's a good idea if I just wait here until your brothers come back, just to be safe." I suggested.

"And if that guy comes back what are you gonna do? beat him up?" jai laughed.

"You'd be surprised what I can do." I gave him a wink. Suddenly beau and Luke arrived home. I explained what happened and why I was there. "jai you're such a little cunt, you couldn't even fight off a robber." luke teased him. "Well I better go now that you boys are safe." I said. "yea we should be fine now, thank you Hope." beau said. I gave a small smile and helped myself out. I was confused on what just happened with Jai and me but all I did know was that I had to get this police car back home before my dad got home!
