Chapter 12

My eyes were closed and all I heard was Jai gasp in the background and a loud thump hit the floor. I was too nervous to open my eyes to see if I was victorious or not.
"Babe!" I heard Jai cry out. I finally opened my eyes to see Ronald on the floor, not moving and in a huge puddle of his own blood.
I ran over to Jai and grabbed his dagger using it to cut the thick rope from his hands. Now having the long piece I took wounded Daniels hands and tied them behind his back. Jai grabbed me, lifting me up from the ground and spun me around.
"I love you." he said then his cheeks started to turn bright red. I went in for a hug and whispered into his ear "I love you."
I grabbed his hand and brought him into the room where Gina was. The reuniting of her and her youngest was the most beautiful thing ever.
As Jai spent time with him mom I called my dad to have him and his team come to the correct address, we found out later on that Daniel hacked into the FBI's tracking system and changed Ronald's government address so they could never find him.

The next day Gina got out of the hospital. Luckily Ronald didn't hurt her, he was just using her to hold captive to punish Jai.
Bringing her back to our house to reunite with Beau and Luke was the most precious thing I had ever witness.
Jai pulled me aside, "thank you for everything Hope, you saved my life."
I couldn't stop smiling, "anything for you."
"I am so lucky to have the most amazing girlfriend in the entire world." Jai grabbed my hand and held it tight. Wait, did he just use the g word? He called me his girlfriend.
"I thought you weren't ready for a relationship?" I questioned his statement.
"I would be the stupidest guy in the universe if I didn't take this opportunity to make you mine." he caressed my face and pressed his soft lips to mine. I could feel the fireworks above our heads and the butterflies flittering in my stomach.

My dad interrupted our moment by stating that Gina and the boys should stay longer with us until they can replace their house that got burnt down.
"That so kind of you Officer Winzer." Gina spoke out.
"Please call me Frank." my dad told her. Gina just smiled back.
I walked Gina up the stairs and showed her her new room. She was taking Luke's old one therefore now Luke and Beau had to share one.
Gina decided to take a nap as she was not only physically exhausted but also mental drained from the past week.

My dad was back at the station for a little filling out paperwork concerning Gina's case. He said he would be home tonight for dinner. Beau and Luke went to the mall to buy their mom some cute surprise gifts since most of her stuff was destroyed in the fire. Which left Jai and I at home sitting on the couch watching a movie.
Jai looked over at me, he grabbed my hand and intertwined our finger. "You're so beautiful." he says then slowly kissed my forehead. I lean over putting my head on his shoulder and cuddling up with his muscular arm.
"Let's go somewhere?" He announced.
"Sure where?"
"I'll show you." he dragged me out of the house and we got inside the car. After 20 minutes of driving we were on the top of the hill looking over the whole city.
"Wow this is so incredible Jai!"
"I use to come up here all the time just to think." he said.
"It's so beautiful, the view is magical." I've never really noticed much scenery but being here with Jai was perfect.
"I had to bring my favorite girl to my favorite place." he made me blush. I softly grabbed his chin and pecked his delicate lips.
We stayed there for a good hour, I mostly let Jai do the talking. The sun started to set, it was so wonderful.
"Can we do this more often?" I asked.
"If we only bring each other here. No one else." he insisted.
"Of course."
"We better get going though, my dad should be getting back and your mom is probably waking from her nap."
Jai started the car up and drove down the hill back to the house.
As we arrived home, my dad already started the BBQ. Beau and Luke were home as well but Gina was still sleeping.
"Where did you guys go?" Luke asked as Jai and I walked in the door.
"We went for a drive, on the..." I started "no where, don't worry about it." Jai nudged me as he interrupted me.
"Ummm okay?" Luke was confused so he just walked away.
I looked at Jai with a lost face, he just looked into my eyes and shook his head. I shrugged it off and walked into the kitchen.
I set up the dining table all fancy since it was Gina's first day back.
"Beau can you please run upstairs and tell your mother that dinner is ready in 10 minutes." my dad asked him.
After we ate dinner, Beau and Luke gave their mother her gifts. She was so surprised and happy there were tears falling from her eyes. "Gina we are all so happy your back safe." I said reaching over and hugging her tightly. Even though I just met Gina we instantly connected. Even her and my dad got along extremely well also. We were all under one roof like one big family.
"Do you want to head up to the room?" Jai asked me. I just nodded and we excused ourself from room.
Jai flopped onto my bed and let our a huge sigh.
"What's wrong babe?" I asked as I rubbed his back.
"Everything is perfect."
"Then why is that a bad thing?" I was a bit lost.
"Because things are soon going to change once everything goes back to normal." Jai's voice began to get shaky.
"Don't worry, nothing will change! We will still be together." I assured him. I kissed his hand and laid next to him.
Jai removed his shirt and got under the covers. I snuggled into his warm chest and fell asleep.

The next morning I woke up. Jai still asleep. "wake up sleepy head." I whispered in his ear. Jai moaned refusing to get up. I began to kiss along his bare chest, tickling him with my lips.
*knock knock knock*
My dad walked into the room, he looked at Jai and I. His eyes widened but then he made eye contact with me "We need to talk Hope."
