Chapter 18

I let my phone ring and ring when I finally decided to answer.

'Hello?' I said while answering.

"Is Jai with you?" he asked.

"uh, no? why?" i was a bit confused. He knew we were fighting so why would he come all the way back down here?I 

"well I was telling him how stupid he was being for letting you leave and assuming you were going to leave him and he just got up and left." he explained to me.

"Maybe he went to the gym to try and cool off?" I honestly didn't know what to say.

"He packed a bag, can you try to reach him please, my mom is freaking out." He pleaded.

"Of course I will, I'll text you if anything. Try calling James or Tyla? Let me know okay?" I told Luke. We said our goodbyes then hung up.

Why does Jai have to do this? Lately he is putting me through so much stress. I love that boy but he is driving me insane. I really do hope he is okay.

I walked into the house and tried to call Jai, it rang three times then went to voice-mail which means he forwarded my call. What an asshole. I called another time and he did the same thing. If he was forwarding my calls to his voice-mail it obviously meant he didn't want to talk therefore why would he leave to see me.

I know this is kind of stupid but I decided texting him,

*To Baby<3:
Hey Luke is calling me worried about you, can you call me or him to let us know you're okay? xx"*

I hit the send button and all I could do was wait.

I laid down on the couch waiting for someone to call me but nothing.

I dozed off while laying on the couch. I woke up and it was 5pm. "shit" i mumbled to myself. I grabbed my phone and I had a text from Jai,

*Baby<3:
Why does it matter where I am, it's not like you care."*

Was he being serious, he is acting like a complete child and it wasn't like I could just wait for him to come home so we could figure all of this bullshit out.

*To Baby<3:
'Jai stop acting like a child! I care that you're safe and not making stupid choices.'*

As much of an asshole he was being I had to play the nice card or things would go no where. I didn't want to Jai to do anything stupid. Last time he made poor choices it had him mom kidnapped and I don't feel like going through all that drama again.

My phone lit up and it was Jai responding to my text.

*Baby<3:
'If you cared you wouldn't of left'*

I was so mad the second I read that text. He basically kicked me out of his house forcing me to leave. I needed to find him and settle this. I clicked on his contact and it began to ring. After the fourth ring he picked up,

"what?' he spat at me.

"where are you?" I asked.

"No where you need to know." He had so much attitude.

"I actually do, I am still your girlfriend Jai."

"Maybe you should start acting like it then."

I wish he was here in front of me so I could slap him across the face. "I am not doing this over the phone, where are you?' I asked so politely trying not to make him even more mad then he already was.

He was quiet, "Please Jai." I begged.

"James'" he said softly then hung up the phone.

I can't believe it's been one day since he moved and he already managed to come back down.

I changed out of my work clothes and into some black jeans and a white floral top. I grabbed my keys and purse and hopped into my car.

James' house was about 15 minutes from mines. I've only been there once and it was ages ago so hopefully I wouldn't get lost.

Luckily I remembered and arrived in front of his house. I ran up the steps and knocked on the front door. James opened the door, his eyes in shock. "Hope what are you doing here?" He asked.

"uh...isn't Jai here? He said he was. " I was a bit lost.

"Yea he is, I just didn't know if he wanted you here or not." He said.

I guess Jai was telling everyone I was the bad guy in the situation. whatever.

"can you tell him to come out please." i asked James.

"JAI! Your wife is here." James screamed and I just rolled my eyes.

Within seconds Jai comes to the front door, his eyes red and puffy like he's been crying, "give us a minute?" i asked James then he walked away. I walked onto the porch and sat down on the steps. Jai followed my actions. We sat there in silence until I spoke, "Why did you come back down here?"

"what you don't want me back here?" Oh here we go again.

"I didn't mean it like that. If you wanted to see me you shouldn't of made me leave." I told him.

"What difference did it make if you left then or in a hour? ... you still would of left." his head was looking down at the ground. I grabbed his chin bringing his eyes to mine, "Jai I'm not going anywhere why can't you see that?" I've been trying to get that concept through his head for days now.

"because you have everything going for you, your schooling, your job. You will easily forget about me, a kid who was basically tossed at you because of how fucked up his life was."

I was shocked when the words left Jai's mouth. I mean I knew the whole reason Ronald was after Gina was because Jai owed him money but that didn't affect why I chose him to be my boyfriend. I never knew Jai felt like this and I was actually hurt that he thought slow of himself.

"Jai, I'm not perfect, nor you but I am grateful I got this kid tossed at me. He makes me so happy regardless of his past." I wrapped my arms around him as a small tear fell from his eye.

"Hope, I fucked up. I was being so selfish, dwelling on my own problems when I should of been working on us."

"sshhh." I put my index finger to his mouth, "Stop blaming yourself." I removed my finger and replaced it with my lips. Jai kissed me back, I pulled away and embraced him with a tight hug.

"I know it will be tough being away from each other but I want us to work more than anything." I told him. He smiled and kissed me again.

"Your mom is coming down Saturday night, come with her and we can go out to dinner?" 

He smiled then gave me a confused look, "why is she coming down?" he asked.

"My dad and her have a date." I nudged him and winked. He started laughing.

"So are you coming?" I asked.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world baby." he gave me another kiss.

I was so happy Jai finally understood that I wasn't going to just leave him when the first problems comes our way. I was also glad that Jai didn't do anything stupid while he was acting up. I know he has a lot of insecurities but I wouldn't like to have to bail my boyfriend out of jail, which is now my work.

As the days went  by I started with my online classes, they were actually harder than I thought and took up a lot of  my time. I would stay up all night taking multiple quiz' and it didn't help that Jai wanted to Skype every night. I'll admit, being away from Jai was extremely difficult  but things were gonna change because him and Gina were coming down and staying the night tomorrow.

"Babe, I am pretty tired. I think I will head to bed now." Jai said into his web-cam as I started at his face which was on my laptop screen. 

I made a sad puppy dog faced but then instantly changed my expression to a huge grin when I said, "can't to see you tomorrow, get some sleep."

"Love you, goodnight." Jai responded.

I waved  bye to my screen and gently said, "Love  you." before ending the video chat.

I had homework due Monday but decided on heading off to bed as well, I was pumped for tomorrow and wanted to come immediately.
