Chapter 8

Waking up with a pounding headache, I got and swallowed down some aspirin. It was 8:30am, I only got 6 hours of sleep and I was starving. I checked my phone, Randy had called me a tad bit earlier and he left me a voice mail saying he found out some critical information about Ronald. I immediately called him back, he told me to come to the warehouse ASAP! I didn't even think of waking up the boys, especially Jai, I didn't know what was going on with him and I but finding Gina was way more important. 

I ran down the stairs, grabbed a banana and headed to my car. Soon enough I found myself in front of Randy's warehouse. The monstrous door was already open so I invited myself in. "Hope, I am glad you're here. I have a lot to tell you." Randy said as he startled me. "Tell me everything." I was so excited to get one step closer to solving this damn case already. 

"Okay, first off I have found a local address and phone number for Ronald Chavez." He told me. "Well that's a pretty good start." I responded, "Any other information." I continued.

Actually yes, I found his criminal record, he has down time in the past for rape and recently got out state prison after 8 years for stalking." Randy explained. My eyes widened in shock, all I could think about was what if he tried to sexual abuse Gina. I wanted to call the boys and tell them  but I knew it would have them even more worried and furious as well.

"send over all the files to my email. I have to run but I will let you know what happens after I speak with him." I said as I hugged Randy goodbye. "I appreciate this so much Randy." I said leaving the building. "Anytime girl, I'm proud of you." he was so sincere. I was starting to become proud of myself.

I rushed home hoping that the boys were not already awake. They went t sleep a lot later than I did and luckily I made it home in time. I started making eggs and bacon for the boys when my phone started ringing; i picked it up, it was my dad.

"Hey dad, whats up?"

"Nothing sweety, I was just making sure you are all okay at the house."

"Yeah, the boys are just waking up and I'm making some breakfast. Any new down at the station?" I asked

"We have a lead now, but that confidential honey." My dad knew I wanted to be involved b ut was always teasing me with information I couldn't know. Little did he knew I was already a few steps in front of him. "Well I've got to go, but I'll be home to make dinner tonight." he said then hanging up the phpne before I could even reply. 

Suddenly, I hear footsteps coming down the stairs. "Good morning!" i shouted without even knowing who it was. I soon saw Jai in his baggy sweat pants and no top on. I could feel my stomach getting butterflies. "How you feeling, long night last night." he said with a huge grin on his face. I gave him the 'whatever' look at turned back around to finish cooking the eggs. Jai came behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist while placing his head on my shoulder. 

What was he doing, I thought he didn't like me like that.

"It smells good." he complimented me. I was still kind of giving him the silent treatment.

"Are you mad because of last night?" he asked.

"I just..." he cut me off before I could finish my sentence. "Please don't be mad Hope, I do like you I just didn't want things to happen like that." he said. 

Wait what?! Jai liked me? waoh, that was not what I was expecting after his rejection last night.

I didn't know what to say but I had to say something, "like what?" I blurted out. "you know...having sex so fast especially when this is whole situation is happening, I need to stay focus on finding her rather than having a girlfriend." He expressed. "I get it Jai, I agree. Your mom in main concern as well." 

"I am so lucky to have you Hope." he said then kissed my cheek. I gave a small blush and finished cooking breakfast. 

I divided up all he food onto four separate plates and had Jai go get his brothers. All three started running down the stairs like vicious lions ready to feast on their prey. Without saying a word they scarfed down their meals. "Thanks Hope, that was delicious." Luke announced. Beau nodded as he stuffed the last piece of bacon down his throat. "Anything for you munchkins." I laughed and began to was their plates.

"So what's the plan for today?" Beau asked everyone. I didn;t say anything because I had a bunch of work to do concerning Ronald. "James wanted to hit the mall." Jai said. "Awesome, I need a new backpack." Luke announced. "Are you coming with us Hope, you know to watch over us." Luke continued as his two other brothers laughed with him. "Actually no." I said in a stern voice. "Oh he was just kidding Hope." Beau said. "Yea come on, come with us." Jai pleaded. "I can;t guys, I'm sorry." I didn't want to tell them what I was doing but I had no time to play games today.

Mid-day the boys left with James to the mall and I instantly rushed to my computer to pull up Randy's email. I first started by calling the number that he gave me. I won't lie, I was pretty nervous but I had to prove myself. The phone rang and rang and rang. I was about to hang up when I heard a deep voice finally pick up. "Hello..."
