The Laws of Love (Jai Brooks Fanfic)

Chapter 6

I was woken up by my phone buzzing, it was a text from Darcy 'meet me downstairs in the kitchen, we have to talk'. I slipped my body out of Jai's arms as he stayed asleep. I walked into the kitchen to find Darcy spinning around on one of the table stool. "how was last night?" i winked at her. She smiled so wide her teeth showed and said "amazing". we both started laughing. "Whats up with you and Jai? You never told me about having a new boyfriend." she went on, "he's not my boyfriend, just friends, maybe more, im not sure yet." I knew I sounded confused.  Darcy gave me the 'mmmmhhmm' look right as Luke, Beau and Skip walked down stairs, "Hello boys." Darcy and I greeted them. All three waves hello to us, they even looked to tired to speak. I was slowly making breakfast when I looked at the clock, it was 8:15. I told Randy that Jai and I would be back to collect the evidence at 9! "Fuck!!!' i screamed, without telling anyone I ran up to my bedroom where Jai still laid there asleep, I jumped on top of him, shaking him "WAKE UP JAI!!!" at first he was startled "we have to be at the warehouse in 45minutes!' he looked up at and started putting on his jeans and a jacket. I ran to the bathroom to brush my hair and teeth. I threw on some leggings and a v neck t shirt. Storming downstairs i glanced at the time, 8:35! I grabbed Jai's hand and dragged him out the door but before leaving I screamed "Be back in an hour, do whatever you want!" then shut the door. I knew the drive to Randy's warehouse would talk around 20-25 minutes, hopefully we could make it. 

We pulled into the parking lot, 9:01 the clock read, "close enough" jai said, i laughed and we walked up to the entrance. The firth thing Randy said to us was "I have some good news". Mine and Jais face light up. "spill it." i commanded. "I found a guy, I don't know if its THEE guy but its the best thing we got." Randy started. "do we have a picture, a name or anything? SHOW ME RANDY!" he gave a chuckle and signaled Jai and I over to his huge computer screen. "This is his name" Randy pointed to the glass screen "its Ronald Chavez, do you know him Jai?' Randy asked. "He almost looks familiar? I just cant remember where I've seen him." Jai's voice was low. He did look familiar to me as well. Where would Jai and I both recognize him from? The room sat in silence for a good 5 minutes before I screamed out "I know! i remember where we saw him!" jai gave me an eager look. "Don'[t you remember Jai when we went to your house to look for more evidence? it him, it's the guy driving the car! Don't you remember?" Jai's eyes shot open "Hope you're right, holy fuck that is him!" Excitement soared through the room as we were one step closer to finding Gina. "I Have an idea!" Randy jumped up saying, "what is it?" Jai said, taking the words right out of my mouth. "I can call up a few guys to possibly find out more personal information on Ronald Chavez. Maybe send out a search guard to stay outside of your house Jai." Randy's idea was brilliant. "This is perfect Randy, right when you get more information, send it me immediately! I can find a way to send it into the police station anonymously." I was so excited to finally be apart of a case this big and also pretty excited to taking one more step towards finding Gina. 

Jai and I got back home around 10:30, no one was home, I knew my dad wouldn't be back until at least 2 more hours, we weren't sure about the rest of our friends. I jumped on the couch and laid down on it. I couldn't wait to see what Randy had in store for me. Jai came along the side of the couch and sat up on the arm rest. "Thank you again for all this, I know I couldn't have done it without you." Jai said then leading his head on mine. "Don't thank me yet, thank me when this over, I haven't done anything yet." I replied.

"But you're trying so hard when its not even your responsibility. Its hard to talk about everything with my brothers even though they're going through the same thing. I just hate to see them down and I don't want them to see him down." Jai's eyes began to fill up with sorrow again. He drop a tear, I sat up and let him slide onto the couch. I held him in my arms and just repeated "It's gonna get better Jai, I promise." and continued to rub his back. It broke my heart to see this boy so torn. "I feel like we should call Beau and Luke to come home and tell them whats the plan." I suggested. Jai only nodded as he still had his head berried on my chest. 

Beau and Luke came home right when we called them, "we need to talk before my dad gets home." I announced to the boys. "Is this some family meeting." Beau blurted out and we all started laughing. 

"Its serious." Jai got out of my chest and had a straight stare towards his brother.

"Then go already!" Luke was always inpatient.

"we have a name, It's Ronald Chavez, but there's a spin." I started, Beau and Lukes eyes both shot open, they looked scared like they just saw a ghost. "It is the guy we saw outside your house the other day." I continued on. Beaus face got red and I could tell was filled with angry "If I ever seen him, I'll kill him!"

"come down beau, a guy I know, Randy, hes gonna help us, he's going to find out more." i tried to settle the boys down. I told them all about Randy's plan and I told them that if any news comes up I would let them know. As we were almost finished talking my dad walks into the house, "hello kids." we all waved and smiled awkwardly trying to to look suspicious but that probably failed. 

"How was work dad?" I asked trying to make this a normal conversation. 

"It was fine, I have to get back to the station in a half of a hour, just home to grab some lunch." 

"What me to make you something?" i offered

"sure, thanks love." my dad was the cutest. "So how are you boys doing?" my dad asked looking at Beau, Luke and Jai sitting on the couch. 

"We're doing okay, just hard you know?" Beau spoke for all the boys as it was hard on them but they were managing to stay strong.

After a few minutes I had made 5 turkey sandwiches for all of us. "here you go." i started passing them out then ended up back on the couch next to Jai. I turned on the TV and let the boys play some Fifa.

My dad had to leave, but I gave him a hug and kiss. "So whats the plan for tonight?" I grinned at the boys. 

"Round two? but with a twist?" Luke laughed then looked at his two brothers, they both and looks on their faces. I gave them the confuse look and Beau pulled out his fake ID claiming he was 21.
