The next 2 days stretched on for what seemed like an eternity. I had scraps of food left and my legs were beginning to give out under the weight.
For some reason I had not yet encountered any creatures. This put me at great unease.
Every once in a while, I would hear faint whistling in the distance, and yet I never bothered to find the source.
As I pondered between trees, I decided to head up hills rather than stay on flat land; maybe then I could find a source of water.
-
By day 3 since leaving the others, I still hadn't found a source of water or food, I also began to feel guilt for leaving the others. I don't know why but when I was leaving them, it was as if something else was controlling me. I tried to convince my brain to allow me to head back towards them, but it was as if my legs had a life of their own.
I began to lose all hope of ever finding food, when I heard a soft shuffle coming from a small bush nearby.
I looked around in all my pockets in hope of finding what I was looking for, a small hand gun.
I had wondered whether I still had it on me, I could have easily forgotten about leaving it behind with the others. After a couple of seconds of reaching into my pockets, I felt a cold, hard bit of plastic. I knew that I had found the gun.
I was desperate for a source of food, so without thinking, I removed the gun from my pocket, and began firing it carelessly in the direction of the bush. After a few shots, I looked through the bush and found a squirrel which was perfectly shot in the head. How? Pure luck I guess.
That evening I set up a small fire, not caring whether it would attract the creatures. I then carefully prepared the squirrel, ensuring that it was not raw.
Life on my own was definitely proving to be tough, how much longer could I last?

The creatures
AdventureI can't tell you much about them, we're not allowed to speak of them. Acknowledging them gives them their power. But there is something coming I can feel it, nobody is safe.
