A Fate Foretold

Chapter 13

Valt waited and waited for Avyrain at the airport but she never came back

"What is it?" Reinhardt uttered as he picked up Valt's call

"Would you happen to know Anaiah's address  the friend of Avy?" Valt asked

"Why do you ask?, aren't you both in a honeymoon already?" Reinhardt asked

"Avy went to her friend and I can't reach her on the phone, our flight already departed and I've been waiting for more than 5 hours so I'm very worried right now" Valt stated

"Just a minute, I'll call Anaiah" Reinhardt stated as he dialed Anaiah's number

"Big brother" Anaiah uttered as soon as she amswered his call

"Is Avy there?" Reinhardt asked

"No, isn't she supposed to be on a honeymoon  right now?" Anaiah replied

"Miss Franchester, I don't have any clothes to wear since you vomited all over me last night" Jiro stated

Anaiah immediately turned to glare at Jiro while he had a playful smile on his face

"Who was that?" Reinhardt asked

"It's nothing big brother, I'll call you later" Anaiah stated as she ended the call

Reinhardt was surprised that Anaiah ended the call first and what's more is that he was with a guy

'Anaiah said that Avy was not with her' Reinhardt sent this message to Valt

"Should I just go home?" Valt mumbled to himself

Then he shook his head as he said "I'll wait, Avy promised to come back to me what if she came and I was no longer here then she would get sad"

Seconds turn into minutes then hours, Valt waited but Avyrain never came

Then suddenly Avyrain's mother called Valt's phone

"Come at XXX hospital this instant!, Avy is in here" Herain spoke while crying her heart out as soon as Valt answered the phone

With trembling hands and tearful eyes, Valt ran out of the airport leaving all their things behind as he hastily went to the hospital

The moment he arrived at the hospital, Avyrain's family was crying

Valt's whole body was shaking as he slowly walked towards the familiar body lifelessly laying down with her face covered with white cloth

"What happened?" his voice trembled as he stood beside the cold body drained from all life

"It was a very massive crash, the truck hit her car and the truck's driver died on the spot while Mrs. Stallion died from the explosion of the car which severely damaged her body" the doctor carefully explained

With his shaking hands, Valt grabbed the white cloth covering the face

"How would you know that this is my Avy when her face is severely damaged to the point that it can't be recognized?" Valt stated in anger

"The family did not also believed it so we run a DNA test and it is 99% positive that the owner of that body is your wife" the doctor explained

Valt grabbed the doctor's arm as he said "There's still that 1% right, tell me there's a chance that it is not her even if it's only a 1% even if it seems like a miracle, tell me!"

The doctor shook his head in response to Valt's plead

Valt turned to look at Avyrain's mother as he said "There must be something unique in Avyrain's body that she only has"
