A Fate Foretold

Chapter 14

Waking up in a slightly cold and quiet room, what greeted her eyes was a plain white ceiling

She slowly sat up from the bed and gazed around the empty room

Meanwhile, on the other side of the room

"She woke up, call the boss this instant" a person stated while looking at the woman from a screen monitor

A little later, a man in an all black suit and a doctor entered the room where the woman was

"I'm glad you're finally awake, I missed you" the man in a black suit uttered with a smile as he sat beside her and held her hand

"Do you know me?" the woman asked

The man's smile disappeared as he turned to look at the doctor

"The madam lost her memories, we still don't know to what extent but it would be best to observe her for a while" the doctor politely explained

"What about her health?" the man stated

"Her vital signs are just fine, we just have to monitor her for some days" the doctor replied

"Then I will leave you two for now" the doctor stated then went out of the room

"I lost my memories?" the woman asked

The man nodded his head in response as he said "It seems so"

"Maybe that's why my head feels empty and I can't think of anything" the woman stated

He sighed as he covered her small little hand with both his hands

"I'm sorry, I failed to protect you" he uttered in despair with his head cast down

The woman was confused on what to do as she asked "Umm you seem like someone close to me, would it be alright to ask you about me?"

He looked up to her then he gently smiled as he said "Right, it's alright to just start all over again"

"I'll tell you everything you wanted to know because whether you lost your memories or not, you'll always be my wife and that will never change" the man stated

"I'm your wife?" the woman asked

"You are Elizabeth Quillo, wife of Arif Vin Quillo" Arif uttered with a smile

"I see, how long was I married to you?" Elizabeth asked

"We've been married for 5 years already" Arif replied

"What happened before I lost my memories?" she asked

"You were chased by one of my enemies then your car crashed, it's a good thing you survived or else I might have killed myself" Arif stated

"What about my parents or family, why are they not here?" Elizabeth curiously asked

"You don't have one, you only have me" Arif replied

"You are an orphan adopted by my family, we grew up together since we were kids then fell in love and got married" he stated

"I see" Elizabeth uttered in response

'He must have been very hurt that I forgot him, someone whom I shared my life with' Elizabeth thought to herself

"I'm sorry that I lost my memories" she sullenly uttered

Arif shook his head as he said "It's not your fault"

"We just have to make new memories together, let's start all over again" he uttered with a smile

Elizabeth nodded her head as she said "Okay"

Three days later, Arif brought Elizabeth back to their supposed home
