Chapter 12

WINTER’s POV

Damn you, Winter! Why did you do that? Why did you kissed her? What the hell did you do?

Nilingon ko si Nat na ngayon ay nakaupo sa damuhan. She’s crying. I made her cry.

She’s a fine woman but I made her cry. She’s looking at the sky. Mabuti pa ang mga bituin, masayang kasama ang kanilang buwan.

Unlike me, my brightest star is with her moon. And I will never be her moon again.

Bumalik ang atensyon ko kay Nat na ngayon ay nakasandal na sa puno. Nat, you’re a traitor. Why did you love me? Why did you fell in love with me?

I’m sorry, Nat. Masaya akong nandiyan ka para sa ‘kin, pero alam mong si Khaine lang ang tinitibok nitong puso ko.

I didn’t mean to hurt you. I just can’t force myself to love you back.

I waited here for an hour to wait for Nat to come inside, but she seemed to be asleep, so I walked closer to her.

And I am right, she was already asleep, I sat down to look at her face. There are still tears on her cheeks. I’m really sorry, Nat.

I slowly lifted Nat, and went inside the house. I went straight to our room, and gently lowered her onto the bed.

Not only that, but I also took her clean clothes from her bag, I also wiped her face, neck, and arm with a wet bimpo before changing her clothes.

“Winter,”

Uh, nag-s-sleeptalk pala ang isang ‘to.

“W-winter, I love you.”

Napatitig na lang ako sa kaniyang mukha, marahan kong pinunasan ang luhang pumatak na naman sa kaniyang mga mata.

Napabuntong hininga ako at tumayo na. Nilagyan ko siya ng kumot at hinalikan sa noo.

“You’ll be okay soon, Nat.”

Lumabas ako ng kwarto at kumuha ng beer sa ref. Bumalik ako sa sala at para mag-isip.

“I started to have a crush on you, but I ended up falling in love with you. Winter, I love you. I love you, but I’m not expecting in return. I love you, but I’m not telling you to love me, either. I love you and I know that I am just a friend for you.”

Napabuntong hininga ako at malalim. Tahimik akong uminom, hindi rin ako makapag-isip ng matino. Bandang alas kwatro ay nahiga ako sa sofa, pero hindi ako makatulog kaya nagdesisyon akong pumasok sa kwarto namin ni Nat.

She’s peacefully sleeping. Sleeping like an angel. Nakaharap siya sa gawi ng higaan ko kaya naman humarap ako sa kaniya.

Ito ba ang babaeng mahal ako? Nat, magagawa mo bang palitan si Khaine sa puso ko?

But I think its not. Nat can’t replace Khaine.
