chapter 84

JADEN'S P.O.V.

"Hello, I'm Michael. Baby wanted to spend Christmas with parents out of the womb huh?"
"Looks like it."
"Okay. Let's make her be safe in mom's and dad's arms, yeah?"
"Yeah."

I honestly didn't even understand what they were doing, until Olivia squeezed my hand immaculately hard.

"Breathe Olivia."
"Fuck!"
"That's it, that's it. I got the head. I'll need you to push again."

She groaned and screamed as she held onto my arm.

"Okay, okay, one more push and she's out."
"I'm tired." She cried as she looked at me, shaking her head.

"You can do it baby. I know you can. I believe in you. Can I sit behind her and press her tummy or something?"
"Yes."

Nurse explained me what to do and how to press her to help her.

"We're gonna do it baby." I was panicking. My eyes were full of tears. I felt like I was gonna lose both of them, but I knew I had to keep it positive in my mind or I would lose myself.

"That's it. Great job Olivia. We got her." Why isn't she crying? Is she dead?

"Livvy you did it."
"She isn't crying." She whispered to me, more tears running down her face.

They immediately started doing something unknown to me to the baby, making her let out a cry.

Olivia sighed as she let her muscles relax and fall back on me.

"She's crying."
"She is." I cried with her as I pressed the side of my face to her.

"Dad, do you want to cut the comb?"
"Yes."
"That there might just not be a sight to see." She whispered to me, making me shake my head.

I watched people be killed in worst possible ways that I don't even want to think about at this moment.

"Can I please hold the baby. Please-"
"I'm sorry, Olivia. You know I can't do anything about it. It's for her best."

I got back to Olivia, sitting on the chair beside her.

"You did a great job baby."
"I didn't even get to-"
"I know. Shh shh. I know. I love you."
"I love you. I'm sorry I yelled. It's none of your fault-"
"Shh. You're talking too much. I don't care what you said in the car, really."
"Okay."
"Hey, did you guys come up with a name for your baby girl?" I looked at Olivia and she nodded her head.

"Lilly Scarlet Hossler."
"Okay, and dad's and mom's full names are?"
"Jaden Isaiah Hossler and Olivia Isabel Nelson."
"Okay. Time of birth is 9:29am, in case you wanted to know."

Everything was happening so fast. We didn't even have time to process everything before they took the baby out of the room and in a special room where she would get special treatment, and they took Olivia in a room where she'd stay until Monday or maybe Tuesday.

"Jaden, can you call Bryce and Josh? I- I can't talk to them now, and we should inform them that the situation at home just won't be like it was supposed to be."
"Yeah, of course. Maybe you should try to get some rest baby. Try to sleep."
"M'kay." I placed a kiss on her forehead, getting up and walking out of the room.

"Hello?"
"Hey Bryce. Are you free to talk?"
"Yeah. Why? Oh yeah, Marry Christmas man. I just figured it's Christmas for you guys. How is spending you first Christmas with kids and Liv and baby in the tummy?"
"Yeah, baby in the tummy. That's why I wanted to talk to you."
"What happened?"
"Liv had a preterm labour."
"Wait, what?"
"She gave a birth today. We are currently in hospital. They took the baby in that NICA floor for premature babies."
"Jesus, what week was she?"
"25th."
"Oh for fucks sake. How is she? How is the baby?"
"Liv is tired, but more mentally drained. Baby, like I said, they took her to take special care of her. She is in incubator and needs help breathing and keeping her body temperature. They said they will need time to check what's gonna happen with the baby, but that she is stable for now. She will probably have some problems later in the life."
"Oh for fucks sake. How long are they going to keep you- I mean Olivia and the baby? Who's with kids at home?"
"Liv is staying until Monday or Tuesday. But baby will probably stay for month and half and then we'll take her home. But depends on how Lilly will develop."
"Lilly? That's the name?"
"Yeah, Alyssa was calling her that for last few days, so we gave her that name."
"That's sweet. I'm so sorry for everything man. I wish everything was normal, but now there's no possibilities to change it. Do you want us to come today? Take care of kids? Or maybe a little later so you have time for yourself?"
"I'm not sure. I have to see with Liv, but I'm pretty sure she is trying to sleep now. She is so drained. Especially for the fact that she couldn't hold the baby. We didn't even get to see her. Well, I could've, but I knew it would hurt her more that I saw her and she didn't, so I just stepped away."
"I'm so sorry man. You can call me later when you talk to her about us coming. It's really no problem if you guys don't feel like us coming is a good idea. And please keep me updated. I will tell others what happened, you don't need to call them. I can hear in your voice you're just not in a mood for that. Go get some rest too, as much as you can. Okay?"
"Thank you so much Bryce."
"And you didn't tell me, who is taking care of kids?"
"Robert is there, but Alyssa is so scared of him. Josh said he will make sure Ally eats and goes to toilet when she needs. She needs so long to get comfortable around someone, she isn't even comfortable with us yet. And you know Robert, he just looks scary. But even if we call some of friends here, I don't think it's going to change anything."
"Okay man. Just take enough time to let everything settle down, and talk to Liv. It's no problem to tell me you don't want us to come. But, if you feel like you want us to come so we could take care of kids, it's no problem either. Okay?"
"Okay, thank you Bryce."
"Okay man, take care and hug Liv for me."
"I will. I'll talk to you soon." I hung up, pressing my back against the wall and letting out a big sigh.

I just looked at the woman in the room. She was laying in bed, sleeping, with her heart broken. I wish she could've at least seen the baby and hold her. 2 seconds - 2 seconds, but I know it would give her what she needed. But now we have to deal with this. It's just important to me that she recovers and that this doesn't ruin her mental health.
