Two weeks after her best friend's sudden disappearance. Minjeong was training alone inside the gym, repeatedly hitting a dummy for who knows how many times now.
She's been invited to compete in the Olympics after her recent win. Thus, is preparing for it as much as possible.
Too lost in her thoughts, not being able to comprehend anything properly and remember her best friend's disappearance— thinking she got betrayed again.
*CRACK*
Minjeong struck her wooden sword at the dummy unconsciously and broke it into two pieces, it falling onto the floor as the impact bounced the spacious facility.
That's when she got a hold of herself and looked around the gym as if she just arrived confusedly.
Then clicking back to the current situation, she remembered everything in a snap and shook her head.
When she paused her training, Minjeong was finally able to think for herself and realized how the training she's been doing lost its spark.
It didn't feel fun anymore.
Everything was boring.
Quite in disbelief and denial, she sat down on the floor and began to compile the things that happened the past two weeks.
Ever since her best friend left, the things around her felt empty— the things she was beginning to feel, disappeared.
The trust she had put in for this person.
The feelings she succumbed, eventually giving in and letting herself freely love.
Had sunk deeply into the deepest depths of her heart, ceasing to exist as if none of them appeared nor happened.
Taking in deep breaths, she slowly breathed out to expel the stuffy feelings inside her chest and stood up whilst stretching her arms.
That's enough...
With something in mind, feeling decided, Minjeong approached the nearby seat where her bag was hung and took out her phone.
"Coach... I'm really sorry for this but, I don't think this is the right path for me. It seemed so fun, and this sport is everything to me, became a part of me.
However, I don't think I can continue on to have the determination to train and enter the competition— bear the heavyweights that'll come.
This may be out of nowhere, and it's quite confusing for me... you're aware of my condition right?
...I'm quitting Kendo, thank you for the efforts you've put in and borne since the very beginning. I hope you find a good replacement, bye-bye."
Finishing the voicemail, the girl sent it to her coach and huffed.
Immediately after, she picked up her things and left the school to walk home. Now walking along the sidewalk, she wore her hoodie and tucked her hands into its pockets, then paused her steps to wait for the pedestrian lights to turn green.
While waiting for the countdown, Minjeong suddenly felt cold. Being greeted by the biting cold winds, she couldn't help but shiver.
At the same time, the light finally turned green, proceeding with her steps to cross the road. Walking and walking, with nothing in mind— she passed by a particular alley that caused her to take a step back and halt once more.
Slowly turning her head, the girl's body turned stiff in an instant. Unknowingly, she ended up letting her mind wander and unconsciously walked further into the alley.
