she hogs the blankets

Your tired eyes finally slipped shut and a small sigh fell from your lips as you laid your cheek on your pillow, relieved that you're finally falling asleep.

Solar has been out like a light from the minute you climbed into bed. She'd had a busy day and it had caught up to her.

That was about an hour ago and while she's slept soundly next to you, you've been wishing that you could get some rest but were unsuccessful due to the fact that you weren't all that tired at first until your long day finally started to catch up with you a few minutes ago.

Everything was starting to fade away, even Solar's soft breaths coming from next to you, as you began to drift into a peaceful sleep.

Only something stopped you.

The feeling of the blankets being pulled away from you as Solar tried to cover up with more of it.

You opened your eyes and tried to lay on what you had left, hoping that she'd be satisfied now that she had mostly all of the warm and comfortable blankets to herself, leaving you barely anything.

But it wasn't enough for her as she got to be a little cold and tossed and turned in her sleep a little, wrapping herself up in the blankets like a little burrito as she did so.

"Solar," you whined and clutched onto the blanket as it started to slip off of you completely. "No, c'mon. I'm cold."

She was still sleeping soundly though and didn't hear you as she rolled onto her stomach, the last bit of the blanket slipping off of you.

You groaned and turned the lamp on before looking at your sleeping girlfriend, scowling at her slightly.

"Solar, let me have some of the blankets too." You sighed and tried to grab some of it from her, but she had a good grip on it and wasn't letting go. "Stop hogging the blankets."

She just let a couple of soft sounds fall from her lips as she laid her other cheek on the pillow, still out cold.

You didn't want to wake her but she was leaving you no choice as you shivered and became frustrated over not being able to get any sleep whatsoever so far tonight.

"Solar?" You sighed and reached over, shaking her shoulder. "Babe!"

The sound of your loud voice and touch made her eyes fly open, a soft gasp falling from her lips.

"Hm?" She lifted her head from the pillow, groaning as she opened her eyes to find the lamp on. "Why is it so bright in here? What time is it?"

"I'm sorry, Solar. I didn't want to wake you but I'm so cold and so tired and you're hogging the blankets."

She looked down to find herself wrapped up in them and realized that you had absolutely nothing to cover up with and keep warm.

"Oh, no. Oh, baby, I am so sorry." She mumbled and quickly unwrapped herself from the blankets, giving some of them to you. "I didn't even know."

"I know. You were sleeping deep. That's why I didn't want to wake you."

"Don't worry about it. You're cold and sleepy and I want you to be warm." She said and you turned off the light before laying your head back down on the pillow.

She put her arms around you and pulled you as close as she could, her legs tangling with yours.

"You're cold." She spoke sadly upon feeling your cold skin against hers. "I'm so sorry, darling."

"Don't worry. I'm warming back up." You said with a sleepy smile and she giggled, holding you a little tighter.

"Good. I love you." She said and kissed your head. "Go to sleep now. I've got you and I promise that I won't let go or steal the blankets anymore tonight."

You laughed quietly before closing your tired eyes.

"I love you too, baby." You said and fell asleep in her warm embrace, feeling much better now.
