You tried to pretend to be asleep when you heard Solar's footsteps on the stairs leading to the bedroom that you shared together.

The light came on before she took a few steps before she stopped, the floorboards creaking beneath her feet.

You kept still and waited a moment before she continued walking, eventually into the bathroom.

As soon as the door was closed behind her, you opened your eyes and breathed out a heavy sigh.

She was home from work which meant that you'd probably be at each other's throats again.

You and Solar were forced into an arranged marriage and neither of you is thrilled to be in it with each other.

However, over the last few weeks that you've spent with her, your feelings have changed a little.

You hate to admit it but you have developed real feelings for her, to the point where you're no longer bitter about being married to her and you actually enjoy being around her.

However, you doubt she feels the same.

She seems to despise you still and it hurts.

You lie and pretend that you don't feel the way you do when, in reality, you're happy to be married to Solar and you're in love with her.

You heard the door open so you closed your eyes again and a moment later, after turning the light off, Solar crawled into bed before you.

She let out a heavy sigh and put her head on the pillow.

"I know you're awake, Y/N." She said and you sat up before turning the lamp on.

She groaned and rubbed her heavy eyes before looking at you.

"What?"

"Well, we're both awake. Instead of going to bed with only those words spoken, how about you tell me about your day?"

"Like you care." She mumbled. "Just go to bed, Y/N. I'm tired and had a long day and I'm not in the mood to talk."

She expected you to turn the lamp off and lay down to go to sleep, but it stayed on and you continued to glare at her.

"I can feel your eyes on me. Go to bed."

"No." You replied.

She sat up and shook her head at you.

"You want to fight tonight or something? Why are you being like this?"

"I'm simply trying to ask about your day."

"Why? You suddenly care?" She asked with her voice raised slightly.

"You know what? I can't keep going on like this." You said. "You're miserable in this marriage? Maybe we can get a divorce."

"It's an arranged marriage, Y/N. That's not how it works."

"Okay, so we're supposed to hate each other all our lives? Have a family that we raise in a terrible environment because we constantly despise each other?"

"I'm sure it'll get better soon."

"You can barely look at me or tell me about your day! You act like I'm the most annoying person on the planet and as though you'd rather be stuck in an arranged marriage with someone different! How are things going to get better, Solar?"

"I don't despise you." She quietly said.

So quietly that you couldn't hear the words that fell from her lips.

"What'd you say?"

"I don't despise you, okay?" She said louder this time.

"You don't? You could've fooled me."

"Yeah, well, I just act like that because I know my true feelings aren't reciprocated."

"Try me." You said.

She sighed before looking into your eyes.

"I'm not actually unhappy in this marriage, alright? I just pretend I am. I'm actually in love with you. There, happy?"

"Yes." You said with a smile.

"Why are you smiling?'

"Because I know that you feel the same way I do."

"What?"

"I've been pretending to hate you this whole time too. I'm in love with you too."

She smiled a little.

"Well, actually, I did despise you, in the beginning, a bit. But somewhere along the way I fell for you."

"Yeah? Same here."

You chuckled before you nervously played with your fingers.

"So... what now?"

She looked at you for a moment before she leaned over and put her lips on yours.

It's the first genuine kiss you've ever shared with her, the first one of love.

"Is this okay?"

"Yes." You whispered against her lips before she kissed you again.

She gently laid you down before hovering over you, her lips still moving against yours.

Things had changed in the best way possible and you couldn't be happier.

Now, you looked forward to life with Solar.

You had a feeling that it was going to be great after all.
