Youre My Mate?

Chapter 37

Rose has been in a coma since she was rescued from being kidnapped and Matt has been going to hell without his mate which after weeks/months of torturing Sean he is finally dead. They are saying their goodbyes to Rose when she starts choking on the tube that was helping her breath and starts waking up*

Rushing into the room the doctor hurries over to Roses bedside along with a nurse. Spraying Roses throat with numbing spray the doctor removes the breathing tube slowly. When the tube is finally out the doctor checks over Rose and her vitals. All the while I'm standing by her feet watching her anxiously. 

"Rose can you squeeze my fingers?" the doctor asks to which Rose does

"So far so good and can you wiggle your toes?"

Rose does that too which is also a good sign. Shows that she can still move and walk normally. 

"Okay now Rose i know you can hear me. Do you know where you are?" the doctor asks while writing down what her information into the chart.

"Yes" she says but her voice is really soft and shes staring at the ceiling. I feel kind of hurt that she has not looked at me since she woke up.

"Nurse could you please give Rose some water. Your throat is probably gonna be sore for a little while because of the tube. Now Rose one last thing..." the doctor walks back over to her head.

"Can you follow my finger with your eyes?" 

He starts moving his finger up and down and side to side but Roses eyes don't move from the position they were in when he moved over to her. This is just like what we had feared from the beginning. My heart drops from my chest but i try to keep that off my face.

"Rose can you see anything?"

"No, not really its like a white veil is over my eyes. Like I can only tell that the light is on and that you're close to me but everything else is a mystery. Are my eyes going to be like this forever?"

"I can't be sure about that. I don't think that you are permanently blind but as of right now I'm not positive when you will regain your eyesight." The doctor says and Rose looks like she's about to cry. I walk over to her and take her hand in mind.

"Hey baby its going to be okay. Your eyesight will come back and everything will be fine. Right now we just have to focus on the fact that you're awake and doing well, okay?" i tell her while stroking her cheek with my hand. Even if she cant see me and her eyes look glassy I still missed looking into them. 

The doctor leaves after checking her vitals again and the nurse brings Rose some food to eat not too long later. Me and her have just been cuddled up on her hospital bed just enjoying each others presence. The doctor says we can take her home tomorrow even though she still needs to be looked after and monitored but a change of location will be a lot better for her. Everyone has been trying to come see her since she woke up but I haven't allowed anyone into her room. They can see her tomorrow when we throw her a small welcome home dinner.

"Matt how long has it been since i was awake?" Rose asks as she plays with my fingers.

"Not that long..." i say trying to hide the fact that i'm lying. I just don't want to mess anything up right now. I don't know if she remembers what happened to her and i don't want to ask.

"I may not be able to see you but i know when you're lying to be Matt. How long have I been in out? A week?" she says looking in my direction now.

"No baby its been about 2 months" i say

"Wow, did the food at least survive the car crash? I mean i know its been 2 months but you couldn't have eaten all my snacks, right babe?" she says and starts laughing. I get this sinking feeling in my stomach that something is off. But, i'm not going to bring it up right now. I'll mention it to the doctor before i take her home.

"Um Rose your car didn't survive it caught on fire and blew up. We can always go buy more snacks love."

"OK, that's the second thing i want to do."

"Really whats the first?"

"Kiss my mate" she says before finding my face with her hands and pulling me to her. I fill our kiss with so much love that i hope she feels it. I missed her so much like i cant imagine if she had never woken back up and i had to let her go. I hold her to me and never let this moment go as i continue to kiss my mate.
