The One (Camilo x Oc)

8. Date?!

Dolores really embarrassed me last night.. But I'll push through and just hang out with Camilo!

After getting into a nice pink dress with white floral print on it, I exited my room to eat some breakfast with the Madrigals. We were eating outside today, and I noticed Julieta carrying many plates of food.

"Do you need help?" I slowly walked up next to her, reaching my hand out to help.

"Gracias, chica." Julieta smiled at me as she handed me some plates, the food looked delicious.

Walking outdoors on the right of Julieta, we head over to a table to place the food down on. As soon as I placed it down, Mirabel swoops a few tamales and some arepas.

Quickly, Julieta notices and sighs. "Camilo, please stop trying to get seconds." I looked at him after Julieta caught the boy, I started giggling as Camilo shifted back into himself.

I saw Julieta smile at us as she walked away to grab more food, and I started taking a small portion of food as Camilo continued stealing a bunch of food.

Quickly, we both sat down before the rest of the family. Camilo started talking to me about what to do later while we waited for everyone else to come sit down.

"I was thinking we walk around town a bit, then hang out with the kids of the town." I nodded, wondering if there was more. "Then, we can grab some food and head to the spot?" He looked at me, I smiled.

"Sure... I've never been around that many kids at once.. so it should be fun." Camilo's cheeks turned a bit of a dusty pink as he started laughing at me. "W-why are you laughing at me?!"

"You just look overly excited over kids, haha!" I noticed that everyone had sat down by the time Camilo finished laughing at me, and Dolores chimed in.

"Stop bullying Rosa! She's too good for you to do that." She quickly stuck her tongue out at Camilo, right before Abuela started speaking.

"I don't have anything to say today, so I suppose just eat and be thankful for Julieta's food." She smiled a bit as she looked around, eyes landing on me and Camilo. "Oh, but... Dolores told me you two were going on a date today." Abuela chuckled, my face flushed in embarrassment. I noticed that Camilo shifted a few times from next to me.

"We aren't, Abuela! We're just hanging out like two normal friends." He rolled his eyes when he finished shifting, causing the rest of the table to laugh a bit and a rainbow to appear over Pepa.

I continued looking at my lap with blush on my face from... the sudden attention. I didn't raise it again until everyone started eating, and Camilo took one of my arepas.

"Oh my goodness Camilo, stop stealing her food! Just like you're stealing my Rosa from me." Mirabel dramatically posed, back of her palm on her forehead.

I stayed silent, very embarrassed. "Sheesh, it's just one arepa. You don't mind, right?" Camilo looked at me, looking perfectly normal again. I looked at him and shook my head before noticing the freckles covering his face that I'd never noticed before.

Quickly starting to eat my food, I distracted myself from everything that was happening by thinking about my family.

"I hope Tía is alright right now..." I said to myself, accidentally out loud.

"Don't worry, I think she'll be just fine without you." Dolores smiled at me, causing some family members to look at me.

"O-oh, I didn't know I said that out loud..." My face flushed once more from embarrassment, I'm so out of it today...

I have been barely focusing on my main goal while in Encanto, and that was to raise money for Tía Maria's medicine.
