Chapter 14 - The Breakup

Random day off...

Location - Live House CiRCLE, Cafe

Your POV

Today was a day off for both me and Roselia at CiRCLE. I don't know what Roselia is doing, but for me, I am going to spend my day off playing video games, something I haven't done in a while. However, before I even had the chance to do that, I received a text message from Yukina, and what it said send a shiver down my spine.

Yukina's text: Can you come meet me at CiRCLE? It's very important.

Whatever she wanted to talk to me about, I bet it can't be anything good. So instead of playing video games liked I planned, I went over to CiRCLE to meet up with my girlfriend. When I did arrived, I spotted Yukina, sitting at one of the tables and she looked really upset.

"This can't be good..." I said to myself.

I walked over to her.

"Hey Yukina, I made it." I said with a grin.

"Oh, good, please have a seat." She demanded.

I sat down, and I suddenly feel uneasy.

"You said you wanted to talk to me, right?" I asked.

"Yeah, and it's not easy for me to say, but I feel like I need to bring this up with you." She said with a downcast expression.

Why do I feel like it is going to lead into something worse?

"What's the matter?" I asked.

"After doing a lot of thinking, I figured out why Roselia didn't do so well during Future World Fes." She said.

"Oh, you did? What was the reason?" I asked.

She sighed before saying something that will break my heart forever.

"It was me being in a relationship with you."

"Heh, you're kidding, right?" I asked.

"No, I am not. The only way we have a chance of getting into Future World Fes is for me to not get myself involved in anymore relationships." She explained.

"Then, does that mean..."

She nodded with a sad look on her face.

"Yeah, I have no choice but to break up with you." She said.

I guess this is it. My relationship with Yukina was coming to an end, and to think, our relationship lasted for close to a year, but now... it's all coming to an end.

"I see..."

"Sorry that I have to do this to you, (Y/N)-kun." She said.

"It's okay." I replied, lying.

"Well then... I guess I should get going." Yukina said.

"Oh, really?"

"Yeah. I'll see you the next time I come here with Roselia, right?" She asked.

At this point, what would be the point in working for CiRCLE now that my relationship with Yukina is over? I might as well quit my job, but I don't want her to know that.

"Umm, sure, see you later." I said.

Yukina gave me a nod before walking away, leaving me alone and depressed. At that moment, Marina came over to place her hand on my back.

"You... saw that, didn't you?" I asked.

"Yeah, I did." She replied. "How are you holding up?"

"Truth be told, not so well. It hasn't been 30 minutes yet, and I missed her already." I said.

"I know how you feel." Marina said in a soft tone.

"You do?"

"Yes. When I was your age, I was in a relationship myself. Our love was like yours and Yukina-chan's, but then, I found out he cheated on me and I was heartbroken." She said.

Even though Yukina didn't cheat on me, I can see why she would bring this up.

"I see."

"I know it's hard to not have Yukina-chan with you, but I promise that you will bounce back and find someone better." She said.

"I hope so..."

"So, what are you going to do about it?" Marina asked.

After thinking about it, there was only one thing left for me to do.

"Marina-san, I think I would like to quit my job at CiRCLE." I said.

"Quit your job?! That is a bit much, don't you think?" She asked.

"Yeah, but... without Yukina with me, I failed to see the point in working here now..." I said.

Now it was Marina's turn to have a sad face.

"Well, how about this? You can take as many day offs as you can." She suggested.

"I guess I can take that instead." I replied, sighing.

"Exactly! Take as much as you need away from CiRCLE, then come back when you feel better." Marina said.

"Alright, I guess I'll see you around sometime." I said as I got up and walk away.

It's going to take a long time for me to accept that Yukina and I are no longer a couple. I mean, I was used to having her by my side and to keep me happy, but now... all of that got taken away. Even if I do feel better, it's going to become awkward if I see her. But...

"Minato Yukina, even if you don't think so, I will always love you."
