Chapter 18 - Overcoming The First Stage

Location - Backstage

Yukina's POV

It has officially been a full year since we tried to get into Future World Fes. It was painful to find out that we didn't get in last year, but all of us has come a long way since then. And this time, nothing is going to stop us from entering Future World Fes. However, it didn't stop Lisa and Rinko from feeling nervous.

"It's almost... our turn, right?" Rinko asked. 

"Yeah... Just thinking about it is making me nervous." Lisa replied.

"Try to stay calm, you two." Sayo told them. "We don't need a repeat of what happened last year."

"Come on, Rin-rin! Let's show them that Roselia is the best band out there!" Ako said with her usual exciting energy.

"Yeah... let's do it."

A few minutes later, the band that was performing before us got off the stage and greeted us with smiles on their faces.

"Best of luck out there." The vocalist said to us.

"Thank you."

"Up next... entry #12, Roselia!"

After hearing that, the five of us took the stage, and we were greeted by a crowd of whispering people.

"I remember that band." One audience member said.

"Didn't they displayed a disappointing performance last year?" Another one asked.

"I'm quite surprised that they managed to find a way to show their faces around here again..." A third audience member muttered, but I was able to hear, so can everyone else.

"Yukina-san..." Rinko called out to me with a nervous expression.

"Don't pay any attention to them." I said to everyone. They agreed, but it looked like it might be a challenge for them.

"Hello, we are Roselia."

The girls bowed their heads, but the audience didn't clap nor cheered for them.

"Here are our members. On guitar: Hikawa Sayo."

Sayo played her guitar.

"On bass: Imai Lisa."

Lisa played her bass and was able to stay relaxed without feeling on edge.

"On drums: Udagawa Ako."

Ako played her drums.

"On keyboard: Shirokane Rinko."

Rinko began to play the keyboard.

"And on vocals: Minato Yukina."

Lisa said that, and Yukina bowed her head one more time before speaking.

"Before we start, some of you might think it is weird that we came here after we failed into getting into Future World Fes last year."

The audience stayed silent.

"But here is the thing: this won't be like last year. All of us are determined to make it into Future World Fes."

Sayo spoke up.

"It's been a goal that we have been working towards for so long now."

Lisa spoke up.

"We put a lot of time and energy for this moment."
