Chapter 6 - Burning Jealousy

The following weekend...

Location - Live House CiRCLE, Cafe

Your POV

Once again, I am here at CiRCLE on a weekend, doing another shift. I would complain, but at this point, I think I have gotten used to it. What's different, though, is that Roselia is not here to use the studio room. It was sad because I was really looking forward to hearing their music, and Yukina's voice... Oh well, I guess there is always next time.

As for what is happening right now at CiRCLE, I am on my break, and I decided to spend that break outside here in the CiRCLE cafe. Even though it is cold outside, I rather be out here instead of inside where Marina has the heater on at full blast. And at least I am well dressed to do that, so I can't catch a cold.

"(Y/N), there you are." A familiar voice called out to me.

I looked up and saw Lisa standing in front of me, and for once, I don't see her with Yukina.

"Oh, hi Lisa. Where is Yukina?" I asked.

"Oh, she is having one of those moments where she has a new song idea, and doesn't want anyone to bother her." Lisa explained.

"Does that happen a lot?" I asked.

"Oh yes, it does." She answered.

"I see." I said with a soft tone in my voice.

That's too bad. As much as I want to see Yukina again, I shouldn't attempt to bother her if she is writing a new song. Meanwhile, Lisa gave me a curious look.

"My, is (Y/N) disappointed that Yukina isn't here?" Lisa asked with a smirk.

"I guess so." I replied.

"Aww, how cute that (Y/N) has a crush on my childhood friend." She teased and I start to blush a little.

"Me? Having a crush on Yukina?"

She wasn't wrong about that. Lately I have been taken a liking to Yukina, but who knows if she'll like me back.

"Yeah, there is nothing wrong with that, though." Lisa said as she sat down next to me.

"I guess not. But the big question is, will she even like me back?" I asked, but Lisa just kept on smiling.

"Of course she will. You have no idea how often Yukina has talked about you ever since we first met you." She said. Yukina has been talking about me behind my back? I know she's crazy about me in terms of being my fan, but still... I should feel honored, or embarrassed.

"Umm, how often does Yukina talk about me?" I asked Lisa.

"Very often. Before I get into what was said, allow me to say some stuff about her that you might be interested in." Lisa offered as I start to think about it.

I guess it couldn't hurt to learn something about her. 

"Sure, why not." I said.

"Great! So, when we were kids..."

Meanwhile...

Yukina's POV

I felt like I did a good job on the new song I was working on. Since I heard that (Y/N) was going to be at work today, I figured I can go down to CiRCLE and show him the progress of the song I was working on. He does mean a lot to me, so his feedback will be very important to me.

As I got to CiRCLE, I was able to see (Y/N) and Lisa talking to each other like they were best friends. I would go over to them and greeted them, but for some reason... I can feel myself frozen in my tracks. I didn't move an inch, and it doesn't look like neither Lisa or (Y/N) noticed me from where I was standing.

Then I began to feel something different inside of me. I believe it is... jealousy. I don't know why, but I don't think I can stand the sight of seeing (Y/N) talking to another girl, even if it was Lisa.

"Maybe... I should come back another time." I said, turned around and began to walk away, hoping to try again some other time.

"Yukina-san?"

The one who called out to me was Rinko, at least it was someone I knew.

"Oh, Rinko, it's you. Hi there." I said. 

"Is everything okay? You don't... seem like yourself." Rinko pointed out.

"Y-Yeah, don't mind me." I replied while blushing a little bit.

Then Rinko was noticed the pieces of paper in my hand.

"Is that... a new song?" She asked.

"Yeah, I was kind of hoping to show (Y/N)-kun and give me his feedback." I explained, even though I didn't actually do it.

"Oh, and... what did he say?" Rinko asked.

"Umm, I didn't... show him yet." I said.

"Huh? Why not?"

"I have to... mentally prepare myself." I lied.

"What do you mean?"

"I... uhh..."

Oh no, how am I going to explain this to Rinko? I wish Lisa could notice me and step in like she always does.

"Actually, nevermind. I'll try again some other time." I said and walked away from Rinko, quite embarrassed.

Location - Minato Residence, Yukina's Room

So much for going to CiRCLE and trying to see (Y/N)... He and Lisa did seem like they were having a good time, laughing and such. Why does it bother me so much, though? Could it be that... (Y/N) doesn't have any interest in me?

I laid down in my bed, sighing as I looked up at the ceiling. It might be better off if (Y/N) falls in love with Lisa instead of me.

"Wait a minute..."

In love? Could this be why I was feeling jealous earlier? Is it because I am in love with (Y/N)? I guess it would also explain my behavior towards him after meeting him.

I have been his biggest supporter my whole life. Well, since I was in junior high at least, so I wonder... was I in love with him back then, too?

"This is so complicated. Maybe I should spend some time alone and try to see where I stand with my feelings."

This will be a hard decision for me to make, but this is only thing I can do for myself right now. Forgive me, (Y/N), my dear.
