                         (Y/N)'s POV

I walk into class late (I really need to get a better sleep schedule) and quietly walk towards my desk.

"Miss (y/l/n),"
I hear Snape say from behind me.

"Yes?"
I ask innocently, turning around to face him. He stares at me with no expression, blinking once.

"You are late."
He says finally.

"Yeah, thanks for the observation."
I say, reaching my desk. As I sit down, I hear Draco laugh
softly beside me. I turn my head to face him, ready to snap.

"Detention, tomorrow."
I hear Snape say, breaking me out of my thoughts. My head sharply turns back to his direction and I open my mouth to object.

"And if I hear any objections, I'll not hesitate to add another day."
He adds, turning his back to me. I roll my eyes and release a frustrated sigh, as Snape continues with the lesson.

"Why so late, (y/l/n)?"
Draco whispers.

"None of your business Malfoy."
I hiss, annoyed.

"Damn, for a Hufflepuff, you sure aren't very nice."
He whispers, as a smirk creeps onto his face. I glare at him.
That smirk. It's so aggravating! I would love to just slap it right off. But I can't -At least not right now. So I'll just have to deal with having to sit with him for another-
I look at my watch.
-Hour?!
I groan inwardly.

ㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡ

Finally, it's lunch. I'm sitting at the Hufflepuff table with my best friends, Cedric Diggory and Laura Mcline. Laura is going on and on about a Gryffindor boy she got partnered with in class.

"He wouldn't even pay attention,"
she says, throwing her arms up in frustration.

"He just keeps goofing off! And guess what! I told Kaylen, who's partners with his twin, Fred, and she said he does the same thing! I swear that boy will be the end of me."
She huffs. Cedric and I laugh at her annoyance.

"That must be terrible."
I say, grinning. Laura rolls her eyes, breaking into a faint smile.

"Who are you partners with (y/n)?"
Cedric asks, turning to look at me.
I let out a long exhale,

"Malfoy."

Laura laughs softly,
"I'd take George over Malfoy any day."

"I wish I had that choice."
I smile painfully.

"Today, he was really getting on my nerves. I finished making my potion, then he bumped into me. It spilled onto the floor. So not only did I have to make it again, but I had to clean it up."
I say, my tone laced with annoyance.

"That's rough."
Cedric chuckles.

"That must be terrible."
Laura says, mocking my tone. I roll my eyes, smiling and look down at the unfinished food on my plate. As I begin eating again, the bell rings. I stop, a bite halfway into my mouth, and groan. Maybe next time.

ㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡ

"Hey (y/l/n)! Any luck with your homework?"

Ugh.
I roll my eyes, ignoring the voice coming over in my direction. I've been sitting in the library for over an hour now, doing homework.
I've been stuck on the same paper from potions for about twenty minutes. Now, I'm trying not to let Malfoy get under my skin. He slides into the seat next to me and looks over my shoulder.

"What do you want Malfoy?"
I ask, obviously annoyed at his presence.

"I was just wondering if you wanted me to help you catch up on what you missed in potions today."

I look up at him, skeptical. I raise an eyebrow,
"what's the catch?"

Smirking, he whispers,
"well, I'm in need of test answers for Arithmancy class on Friday, so I thought we could help each other out."

I look back at my homework.
"No thanks, I'll manage."
I say dryly.

"You sure?"
He questions, looking at the current 'progress' on the paper in front of me.

"You're using the wrong formula."
He whispers into my ear. I feel his lips brush up against my ear, and blush slightly. I stand abruptly, closing my books.

"I said I'd manage."
I repeat, not looking at him.
Draco exhales sharply,

"fine, suite yourself."
He shrugs, standing up. He picks my book up and hands it to me. Then he looks up and stares straight into my eyes.

"Let me know if you change your mind."
He says, lowly. I'm stunned by his piercing grey eyes, but quickly look down at the book in his hand. I grab it, and pull it close to my chest. I glance up at him briefly, then walk away speedily. My cheeks flush as I continue to feel Malfoy's gaze upon me.
Wait. What?
