Y/n's POV

"(Y/n)... (y/n),"

I stir awake at the voice in my ear.

"Huh?"

"Detention is over, we can leave."

I open my eyes and look up to see Draco smiling softly at me.

"I didn't realize I fell asleep."

I mumble, getting up off of his shoulder to stand up.

"Yeah, you were knocked out pretty much the entire time."

Draco says, standing along side me.

"Where is everyone?"

I scan the room to see no one in the room with us.

"They left a minute ago, and Bins just walked out."

I nod, grabbing Draco's hand instinctively and start for the door.
Realization hits me suddenly. I look down at our hands, and quickly pull away. Draco smirks at me,

"I don't mind."

He says, intertwining our hands once again. I bite back a smile as we walk out of the door.

"Want me to take you back to your dorm?"

Draco asks me softly as we enter the hall.

"Um, well actually I'm supposed to meet Cedric in the library. But, you can take me there if you still want to."

He nods and we head down the hallway towards the library.

After a few moments of silence, I look up at Draco and try to start conversation.

"So, what did you do during detention?"

He glances at me momentarily,

"I uh, well I just kind of sat there the whole time, I dozed off for like 10 minutes but that's all."

"Oh."

I bring my gaze forward once again.

"Draco, I was wondering- well I guess I still am- why are we being friendly with each other? Like a week ago I wouldn't have even dreamed of this kind of behavior between us. So what changed?"

I ask carefully, as I watch his reaction through my peripheral. He simply shrugs, and looks down at me.

"Well, if I'm being honest, I've had a crush on you since 1st year. When I first saw you- "

He stops abruptly, halting in his footsteps as well. He turns to face me, and I follow suit.

"Since I first saw you on the train. But, I held a grudge after- well you know what happened."

He chuckles softly. I smile at the thought of our first meeting. He ran into me on the train, and I was pissed cause I dropped my cat when he bumped into me. I lost that cat because of him and hadn't even named it yet. I was absolutely not in a good mood. So, when he tried to talk to me after that, I ignored him. Let's just say, he didn't like that and we eventually got worse with each other. Leading up to what we were up until this week. It's pretty ridiculous when I think about it now.

"Right, I had to get an owl because they were out of cats. Thanks by the way."

I joke, as his smile grows bigger.

"Yeah, well anyways."

He says, playfully rolling his eyes.

"I never wanted to let go of my ego long enough to tell you. And I guess I still didn't up until we got stuck in Snape's classroom."

"Wow, I never knew."

I mumble, surprised that he had liked me for as long as we've known each other.

"I can't say the feelings were mutual."

I laugh. He raises a brow at me with a smirk.

"Were?"

I roll my eyes, softly hitting him on the shoulder.

"You know what I meant."

"Do I?"

He asks, stepping closer to me. A blush creeps onto my cheeks.

"You're right, I shouldn't have expected you to understand something so simple."

I say, mocking an understanding facial expression. He throws his hand onto his chest as if he was in pain.

"Ouch! Just when I thought we were over the insults."

"Oh no, those will never be over."

"I can't believe you! After all we've been through!"

I release a laugh at his playful behavior.

I still can't believe this is the boy I've hated since 1st year.
