Draco's POV

Since Blaise's visit to my dorm a few days ago, I've been worried about a lot of things. First off, am I next? And what is the dark Lord planning that is so important that he's recruiting fifth years? And why haven't I heard anything from my parents?

"Draco."

I snap out of my thoughts as Goyle waves his hand in my face.

"Huh? What?"

"What are you so deep in thought for?"

"Nothing."

I mumble, taking a bite of the apple in my hand. Blaise- who is sitting beside me at the table- nudges me with his elbow.

"Still haven't heard anything?"

He asks. I shake my head.

"No, nothing."

"Heard what?"

Crabbe questions.

"I'm waiting for a letter is all."

I say before Goyle cuts in as well.

"From who?"

"His parents."

Blaise answers, earning a glare from me. Crabbe and Goyle laugh.

"Your parents? What, you miss them that much?"

"Shove off you bastards."

"Well, someone is awfully sensitive this morning."

Crabbe snaps back.

"Whatever."

I mutter, rolling my eyes. I stand up, turning to walk out of the Great Hall. As I get to the entrance, I'm stopped by (y/n), who looks as if she ran all the way here.

"Hey, where are you going? Breakfast hasn't ended yet, has it?"

"No, it just started. I'm just going to get some fresh air is all."

I force a small smile, before starting down the hall.

"Draco? Are you not hungry?"

I held up the apple in my hand.

"I'm fine."

She nods, seeming slightly hesitant, but shortly enters the Great hall.

Y/n's POV

I slowly make my way to the Hufflepuff table, feeling curious as to Draco's mood shift.

Well, we all have our off days. Maybe this is one of his.

I scan the room to find Cedric, and instead see Laura sitting with Kaylen.
Laura is laughing at something. I begin to feel mixed emotions. Part of me is happy she seems happier, but the other part of me is sad that I'm not who made her so happy.

She's got to heal. And if that means she finds someone new to spend time with, then....then so be it.

My eyes water up immediately at that thought. I quickly blink them away, taking a deep breath. I find Cedric among other quidditch players. Taking a seat by myself, I quickly eat my breakfast.

As everyone finishes their meals, I leave for my first period classes. Walking to potions, I notice Laura and Kaylen walking together. Kaylen sees me and smiles. I force a smile, glancing over to Laura, who only nods.

As I take my seat, I notice Draco isn't here.

That's odd. He's never late to this class.
Maybe I should go look for him.

Just as I begin to leave in search of Draco, Snape enters the classroom.
He stops upon seeing me headed towards the exit.

"Do you have somewhere else to be miss (y/l/n)?"

I freeze,

"N-no sir."

I retreat back to my seat. As Snape starts his lesson, I begin to fidget with my hands, watching the door.

Where is he?

Snape suddenly stops his lesson, looking at the empty seat beside me.

"Does anyone know where Malfoy is this morning?"

Everyone looks around the room, shaking their heads.

"Hm, very well."

He looks at me, pausing.

"Would you happen to know where your partner is miss (y/l/n)?"

"I don't sir."

I shake my head in response. Snape nods, before continuing with the lesson.

Seriously, where is he? Something must be wrong.
