The Hogwarts Founders Return

chapter five meeting with Dumbledore

                 James and Lily arrived outside of Hogwart's grounds. James Potter sent a Patronus to Dumbledore letting them know they are there to have a word with him.

Dumbledore already knows that the Potter are alive due to them meeting with him already. Dumbledore told them where they could find their son, Harry but didn't tell them anymore details of the events that have happened since the horrible night that Voldemort came and murdered them.

James and Lily have many more question for Professor Dumbledore, moments later Dumbledore comes to meet them at the gate and leads them to his office. The Potter's took their seats.

"Dumbledore, we found Harry and you have to help him he going to be in trouble with the Ministry of Magic with the event that occurred tonight at Petunia's," said Lily.

"I'm already aware of what happened there tonight," said Dumbledore smiling." All is well, Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic is meeting with Harry as we speak. Harry is not in any trouble due to not being able to control it. The Minister does not believe that Harry had any attentions of doing what he did to that muggle but simply couldn't control it due to how angry he got. Miss. Dursley, will have no memory of the events that happened tonight."

"Okay, now I have a couple of questions, where is Sirius and Remus and why in the bloody hell is Harry with his aunt and uncle?" Asked James, fearing the answer of his first question.

"It was the safest place for Harry to live at the time," said Dumbledore.

James looked at Dumbledore worried," How did Sirius and Remus die?" Asked James.

"They are both alive, Remus is safe but as for Sirius he was in Azkaban, after Sirius sold you both out to Voldemort Sirius killed a bunch of muggles and murdered Peter Pettigrew, honestly destroyed the poor boy all that was left of Peter was a finger and when the auror arrived on seen all Sirius was doing was laughing."

"WHAT HOW COULD YOU THINK SIRIOUS HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH VOLDEMORT?" Yelled James to his feet.

"Calm down, James and I'll explain myself," said Dumbledore." With Sirius being your secret keeper, he was the only one that knew your location."

James thought for a second then remembered something." Dumbledore, Sirius wasn't our secret keeper, Peter Pettigrew was."

"I'm sorry, James but that doesn't change the fact that Sirius killed all those muggles and Peter, he is still guilty for that," said Dumbledore frowning." Also doesn't change the fact that he has escaped Azkaban and is currently on the run."

James kicked his feet against the floor. "Your right, Dumbledore. I don't know why he would have done that. He wouldn't have it in him there has to be more to the story."

"And maybe someday we will fill in the missing pieces of the story," said Dumbledore with a twinkle of hope in his eyes. "Now on another note, I'm really glad you're here we are in the need of some new teachers for the term this year. I need a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, muggle studies, and yes Professor McGonagall has requested an assistant in Transfiguration. Care of Magical Creatures has been filled by our very own, Rubeus Hagrid. If you both agree to becoming teacher, we would of course have to tell the ministry that your back. Which the four founders will handle that for you. They have already announced their return at the Ministry."

James and Lily both got excited and screamed out, "Yes, we accept."

"Very well, glad to hear," said Dumbledore. "Now Professor L. Potter is what you will be addressed as Lily and I think you should be hmm let's see," Dumbledore thought to himself for a few moments." Muggle Studies?"

Lily nodded in agreement to teaching this subject.

"Now for Professor J. Potter I remember you being gifted in Transfiguration so would you agree to being Minerva's assistant?" Asked Dumbledore.

"Yes," said James. "I would love to be Minnie assistant."

"Great, now few more things to cover then you can head out lots to do before term begins," said Dumbledore, still smiling at the Potters. "First off Severus Snape-"

"Snivellus," snarled James.

Lily smacked James on the arm. "Knock it off, James."

"As I was saying, Severus Snape is the Potions Professor. You two will have to get along I can't have my staff acting immaturely in front of the students." Said Dumbledore.

"Wait, you made him a teacher you do know that Severus Snape is a death eater," said James with a puzzling look on his face.

"He was a death eater yes but after the death of both of you he switched side more will be explained at a later date," said Dumbledore.

"Fine, yes I'm sure we can get along," said James.

"Good, lastly after the ministry knows that you both have returned-" Dumbledore turned to James once again. "You will need to register your Animagus form to the ministry of magic I can't have an illegal Animagus on my staff if for some reason your caught we will both be in trouble. I will go with you and tell them you became an Animagus right before you died so didn't get a chance to register."

James was confused, how could Dumbledore of known that he was an Animagus. James didn't say anything just nodded in agreement to register.

"Professor Dumbledore I need to have a word with you," said someone as they walked through the door.

James and Lily looked up to see who entered it was Severus Snape.

"Oh, hello Snivellus," said James towards Severus.

Severus eyes grew wide. "Potter," said Severus catching a glimpse of Lily. "Lily," Severus collapsed fainting.

"Lily what is with you making everyone faint tonight damn so far your two for two," said James laughing.

"Suppose to get along, James." said Lily.

"We will, I was just letting him know it was actually me, so he didn't think someone was pretending to be us with a Polyjuice potion about that. Dumbledore, why didn't you check to make sure we were who we say we were?" asked James.

"If you take Polyjuice of someone that is dead you will look like there deceased body. I will explain everything to Severus once he comes to. As for you two, you will be very busy until term begins so I'm afraid you won't get a chance to see Harry until he has arrived here at Hogwarts. But he will be safe till then so don't worry about him," said Dumbledore. James and Lily went to go set up their offices and start planning their courses for the beginning of the term.
