The cold autumn wind brushed past the girls face, a smile plastered on the now brunette woman. Her hands between her thighs as an attempt to warm them up.

A couple of weeks had gone by, feeling ever so impulsive the young adult decided to find a way to change her appearance. Her raven hair transforming into a brunette, along with the newly cut layers in her hair.

Jisung had found a suitable job to pay for him and Aeri, the only downside being Aeri would spend most of her afternoons alone. She was fine with it some days, until she felt like her thoughts were consuming her and she couldn't handle it.

She waited ever so impatiently as time passed— waiting till her dear boyfriend would come back from his part time job.

The memories of where Jisung confessed to her on his balcony kept replaying in her head— it was her favorite place to "hang out" whenever she'd miss Jisung while he was away at work, or just felt alone.

"Hi beautiful," a male voice approached from behind the woman, making her startled— but she had recognized that voice from a mile away.

Her head shot backwards, eyes quickly finding her partners orbs. "Jisung!!" her smile grew into a toothy grin, quickly standing up from the chair to embrace the male.

"I was only gone for 8 hours!" he chuckled out as he felt a tiny figure hug his torso, "And what? I still missed you like crazy!"

She nuzzled her forehead into his chest, letting his strong cologne fill up her nostrils. "I missed you too love." he lowered his head down— his chin resting on the crown of her head.

"Come inside, I'll make you some hot chocolate."

The girl pulled away from the hug, smiling like a lovesick school girl. Their hands interlocked as he lead her inside the house— the fresh smell of leaves and pumpkin spice from outside was different from the laundry detergent and air freshener smell that filled the atmosphere of the house.

As the two lovebirds walked inside, arms interlocked with one another, the woman felt her phone vibrate in the pockets of her sweatpants.

The girls eyebrows crashed together as her neck shot to the side to give her partner a confused look— the dirty blonde disconnected their arms and slid his hand down the pockets.

He pulled out the device, his eyes examined the phone screen, "It's an unknown number."

He showed the cellular devices screen, the call still on display, she immediately rushed to click the accept button.

"Hell-"

"Hello is this Han Aeri?"

There was nothing weird or off about the persons tone, but it sent shivers to the girls body, she felt as if she was being interrogated. But her ears didn't deceive her, she had recognized that voice.

"Y-yes. Who is this?"

"Aeri!! it's your father!"

At that moment in time she felt as if life itself stopped— her body jittered, she doesn't know what to feel, say or do.

She stood there like a life-less dummy as her sick father kept calling her name out wondering if she was still there.

Why had he called her? She wasn't mad that he did but there was still a lot of resentment that filled her heart whenever the thought of her parents crossed her mind.

Immediately, being snapped back into reality, the brunettes grip on the phone was tightened— insecure that the phone would fall.

"Oh, Hi Dad.." she softly sighed, eyes closing to a shut.

The older man on the line ranted and asked his daughter questions about how her life was going and how she was doing— along with him telling her about the surgery and how he's gotten better recently.

Her emotions conflicted— on one hand she was upset that he'd ask her how she was doing as if him and her mother didn't collectively agree to kick her out. Then the other she found herself smiling, glad to know her father was healthy and doing better.

"Aeri, I-"

Though he felt better he still struggled to talk, the brunette stayed attentive to what he had to say no matter how many words he'd slur or stutter.

"I would really like it if you could visit me sometime," the older man shyly asked.

The girl stiffened up, thoughts racing through her head— overthinking her fathers request. She wouldn't lie and say that she didn't wanna go, curiosity overflowed her.

"Could I come visit you today?"
