"Oh no," Sophie said, as Stina walked over with an annoyed look on her face

"Don't give me that face, I'm going to hate this just as much as you will," Stina said, and she took her spot next to Sophie.

Once, Mr. Fintan was done calling out names, he gave them the assignment. They had to make a chocolate cake, which should've been easy enough to make.

Sophie was supposed to measure out the ingredients, while Stina stirred them together.

Sophie threw in the right amount of everything, she looked closely and saw, one cupful of baking powder. The cook book was a little dirty.

She poured in a cupful of baking powder, and they threw it in the oven.

After a few minutes, the oven started making weird noises.

"What did you---?" Stina asked, before the oven door opened itself, and cake exploded everywhere. Flour shot all over the room, caked with eggs and chocolate.

Everyone looked at Sophie and Stina, Mr. Fintan wiped the cake off his face and bellowed a deep laugh.

"That is first time in my years of teaching, that has happened!" Mr. Fintan kept on laughing.

The rest of the class just glared at them.

"This is not over," Stina said, and she stormed out of the classroom.

"Okay, class is dismissed, all of you go change, into your gym clothes," Mr. Fintan said, and the entire class streamed out.

Sophie thought it probably looked odd, that 32 children covered in flour, eggs, and chocolate were walking through the halls. She saw a door close, and thought she saw familiar blonde hair, and heard a small snicker.

They headed to the locker rooms where Sophie changed into her gym clothes. Her hair was a little crusty, from the dough.

Sophie made her way to the cafeteria, which was an outdoor area, full of beautiful pink flowers. The food was served salad bar style, so they could choose what they wanted. Once Sophie served herself, she looked for somewhere to sit.

"Did you hear? There was an explosion in home ec—— eww what's in your hair?" Dex walked up to her and he saw her hair.

"Home ec explosion cake, care to try some?" Sophie asked, snarkily.

"I'm guessing you caused it?" Dex asked, wiping off some of the cake from her hair.

"Go ahead try the hair cake," Sophie nodded.

He put his finger in his mouth, "Actually it doesn't taste half bad."

"Dude, you seriously did not just like eating cake from my hair," Sophie put a hand up.

They walked around and eventually settled for sitting on the short wall. It overlooked the ocean, but from a higher point than the locker terrace.

"So, how were your classes?" Dex asked, biting into a sandwich.

"Other than the explosion, Ancient History was easy, but in Linguistics I don't think Ms. Cadence likes me," Sophie explained.

"Ms. Cadence doesn't like anyone, I had her as a substitute teacher last year, let's just say things did not go well," Dex looked down.

"Well, I met a kid named Keefe Sencen," Sophie said.

"Keefe Sencen!" Dex choked on his sandwich, "He's a junior, but when he was a freshman he had something to do with "The Great Skunk Incident"."

"Ummm, what's that?" Sophie said.

The bell blared and they were onto their next classes. He and Sophie both had Gym. Sophie had to go put her stuff in the locker room when she saw a beautiful girl, with long brown hair, and turquoise eyes.
