Chapter 8

Hi sooooo I'm back! I will try to update every once in a while! Please enjoy this new chapter; I've been slowly tinkering at it for months now while working on other projects outside of Wattpad.

It had been a month since Sophie took Iggy into her care, she and Keefe had aced the painting, and it was finally Halloween. Iggy's cold wore off, and his fur was growing back. For Halloween this year, Sophie was Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. She and her friends planned their costumes this year. Sophie was going as Hermione, Dex as Ron, Fitz as Harry, Biana as Ginny, Keefe as Draco, Linh as Cho Chang, and Tam decided on Voldemort, so they didn't know what to expect when he arrived at school.

Keefe drove Sophie to school as usual, and when they parked and walked up to the entrance where, everyone was waiting except for Tam and Linh.

"Wow, Fitzy, you can really pull off Harry Potter," Keefe walked up.

Fitz being taller than everyone somehow managed to pull off Harry Potter.

"Where are Linh and Tam?" Sophie asked.

"Tam just texted me, They're on their way," Biana alerted them.

"And why would Tam text you of all people?" Sophie asked, with a mischievous smile.

"Ummm, I am not going to dignify that with an answer," Biana's face turned tomato red.

Sophie and Keefe smirked with knowing looks.

"Oh look! There they are!" Biana said looking over Sophie's shoulder.

Linh looked exactly like Cho Chang, while Tam, was wearing a ridiculous mask, and a bald cap, that he painted white.

"Wow, Tam, you really do look like Voldemort," Sophie tried to hold it in, but almost immediately burst into laughter.

The rest of the group joined in, and Tam looked like he was ready to explode.

"Okay, we should probably stop laughing before Tam kills us," Sophie gasped.

They walked to their lockers, and Dex asked, "So what do you guys want to do, tonight?"

"The San Francisco Costume Contest, it starts at 5, there's food, and live music," Tam suggested.

"That sounds fun, who's playing?" Biana asked.

"It's a mix of multiple different bands, a few of them quite popular," Tam told her.

"Where is it?" Sophie asked.

"Webster and Geary," Tam answered.

"Oooo. Japantown, we can get some trinkets from our grandma's shop!" Linh said.

"You're Japanese?" Keefe asked.

"Well, our father is Korean, so that is why Tam looks like he should be part of BTS," Linh continued, Tam scowled, "But our mother is half Japanese and half Filipino. So our grandma on our mother's side is Japanese, and she owns a shop in Japantown. Our Grandpa on our mother's side is our connection to our long family line of artists and songwriters."

"So, how about we meet at Linh and Tam's grandma's shop in Japantown at like 4?" Fitz asked.

"That sounds perfect!" Biana said, and everyone else nodded in agreement.

"I'll send you guys the location," Linh pulled out her phone, and everyone got dings on their phones.

Everyone went along with their day, and luckily all their parents agreed with them going to Japantown for the contest.

Sophie was waiting outside her house for Keefe, after a few minutes, he rolled up in his convertible at about 4:15.

"Hop in, we have a costume contest to win," Keefe said, and Sophie quickly got in the car and they were off.
