The rest of the night was magical. Grady and Edaline were so surprised at Sophie being on stage, they immediately signed her up for choir next year instead of Ancient History, despite Sophies protesting and endless complaining. Luckily she had the weekend to relax. All Sophie had done that Saturday was watch tv on the couch all day bingeing Vampire Diaries. On Sunday, Sophie was getting the weird end of weekend vibes where she couldn't relax because school was the next day, and the weekend would end.

Sophie decided to call one of her friends, so she scrolled through her contacts on her phone. Dex was the first on her list.

She called Dex, and after a few seconds of the phone ringing, someone picked up the phone.

"Hello, is this Dex's girlfriend?" a younger child giggled.

"HEYYY!!!" Sophie heard in the background and running footsteps.

"You know, Dex talks about you all the ti—" the younger kid was cut off.

"Sorry, about that my little brother Rex stole my phone while my other younger siblings Lex and Bex distracted me," Dex explained, panting.

"Do you want to come over? I was put in charge of the triplets while my parents are in Nepal. My Mom is judging some kind of skiing competition. So back to the matter at hand, I need help with the triplets," Dex asked.

"So I'm just a babysitter now?" Sophie asked mock accusingly.

"What! No!" Dex panicked.

"Wow, it is so easy to trick you, I'll be right over," Sophie laughed and hanged up the phone.

She threw on a loose red sweater and black yoga pants, and walked to his house.

Dex's house was somehow full of ice sculptures, frozen ponds, and snow. It was September, she wondered how that was possible. It was so quietly peaceful until she heard a large smash, and laughing. She saw three small children, all probably 11 years old, charging towards her, with a stumbling Dex trailing them.

Before Sophie knew it, she triplets crashed into her, and they were in a pile on the floor. All three of the triplets laughed and squirmed, trying to get up.

After a bit of wiggling, they all got untangled, and Dex helped her up.

"Sorry, about that," Dex said, and Sophie brushed herself off.

"Don't worry about it, I once had a little sister, did I mention I was adopted?" Sophie asked.

"No, what happened?" Dex asked, the triplets ran off, and Dex let out an annoyed sigh.

Sophie told him the story, and Dex looked a little depressed when Sophie finished.

"That's deep," Dex looked at his shoes.

They heard something shatter in the distance.

"Oh great, they probably finally shattered our giant Ice swan," Dex groaned, and motioned for Sophie to follow.

They walked along a stone path through the large snow covered gardens until they found the triplets chasing each other around a large pile of what looked like shattered ice.

"Nope, looks like they destroyed the Ice Lion today," Dex concluded, looking at the shattered pile of ice.

"So, how is all of this possible? It's September in California," Sophie wondered.

"My dad created an elixir that if poured into the ground it gets marginally colder," Dex took Sophie's hand and pressed it to the ground.

The ground was freezing to the touch, and Sophie's hand jerked back.

"Wow, that is cold," Sophie said, looking at the ground.

They both quickly managed to tackle the triplets, and get them into one room. They had the perfect way to distract them: Tv.

"Okay, so what do we do now?" Sophie asked, looking at the triplets nervously.

"Well, we need to make lunch," Dex said.

"Here's a thought what if we just took them to town for lunch?" Sophie asked.

"That's a good idea, but who would drive us?" Dex asked.

"Well, I happen to know a few people, who would be happy to go to town for lunch," Sophie said.

Sophie called Keefe, Fitz, Biana, Linh, and Tam and they came right over.

"Wow that was fast!" Dex said, grabbing the triplets,

"Okay, so how are we going to do this? Because I am not letting those three near my car," Keefe gave the triplets a look of fear.

"Linh and I only have our learners permits, but Linh has a minivan," Tam offered.

"So the minivan should fit 8 of us," Linh explained.

After some conversation, they agreed that Linh, Dex, and the triplets would take the minivan. Fitz, Biana, and Tam would take Fitz's car, and Sophie, and Keefe would take Keefe's exotic convertible.

They decided to go to an Italian Sandwich shop, called Meatball Italiano.

When they walked in they saw a rather plump man with blond curly hair, who looked awfully familiar, behind the counter.

"Welcome, to Meatball Italiano!" the man behind the counter said.

The restaurant had wooden tables, with a red, white and green squared covering. The counter had a few shelves with a glass covering over it to display some desserts. There was an assortment of delicious looking Italian cakes, and pastries. There was a menu on above the counter and it had many choices. From Meatball Subs to something called a Grilled Cheese Baguette.

They all decided to order meatball subs, and when they sat down Mr. Fintan from school walked in.

"If it isn't Sophie Foster," Mr. Fintan put his hands on his hips.

"You know these kids?" the man behind the counter asked.

"I only know, two of these kids, Bronte, but Sophie is the one I told you about," Mr. Fintan called.

"You mean the one that blew up a cake on the first day?" Bronte raised an eyebrow.

I know that these characters aren't like this in the books, but honestly I think they both needed a fresh concept so this is what popped out of my brain. I hope you like it ;).

"Yes, it is!" Sophie added.

Tam and Linh looked super confused, "You mean your the one who caused that?" Linh asked.

"Yup, along with Stina I might add," Sophie laughed, "So how do you guys know each other?"

Sophie looked at Mr. Fintan and Bronte.

"He's my husband," Bronte answered, joining Mr. Fintan on the other side of the counter.

When I thought about this, If I was to ship anyone with Bronte it would be Fintan. I know its unexpected, but it offers new concepts.

"I never would've thought that!" Sophie took a bite of her meatball sub.

When they finished Bronte asked, "So, would you guys like anything for dessert?"

"We don't need any sweets today, the triplets on sugar is not a good sight," Dex said, rounding them up, "Three Grasshopper Cheesecakes to go, don't let the triplets see them."

Side note: I just reread my writing and realized how "grasshopper" cheesecake sounds so just to clarify. Grasshopper cheesecake is mint chocolate chip.

Dex whispered to Fintan and Bronte, and they went into the back. Everyone walked out the store, and Tam went back in for the cheesecakes.

Tam came out and they managed to get back to Dex's house without the triplets noticing with the cheesecakes.

Sophie helped Dex the rest of the afternoon, and they managed to sneak one of the cheesecakes out with her.
