Chapter 31

Instead of getting a much needed rest, my head spun as I roamed my gaze around my unit. My place is a mess.

The clash inside my stomach continues. My grip on the broom was so firm that it could break any moment. I swept off the falling hair strands on the floor and tossed it in the bin. I stacked them in categories. And when I faced the quaint vanity mirror which I hung last week on the wall, I noticed that I also look like a mess.

Magulo ang kulot kong buhok. It can shelter a crow! My makeup vanished but still made my whole visage appear like a shit.

I have a visitor... and it's Brent Iverson Azcona that I haven't seen for years! Wait, I see him once in a while but that does not mean we are fine that way. I can honestly feel the awkwardness whenever we bump into each other.

I prevented myself from pondering too much as to how he discovered my place. I just thought of my brother, he surely did mention me to Iverson.

Niligon ko naman ngayon ang kama ko. A frown quickly wrecked some of the thoughts that I've been thinking since I started panicking at my visitor's arrival.

Hold on... how should I address him?

Hi, doc?

Warmth came rushing to my cheeks.

"Croozian, tidy your bed first before thinking of him!" saway ko sa sarili.

The blanket fold that I made was uneven and because I was far from being delighted, I capped off the linen spray that I really don't want to use, ang mahal kasi dapat itatabi ko lang. After doing a quick and not-so-neat cleaning, I headed to the vanity mirror again.

I stared at my reflection. Pale but not lifeless.

With a booming heart inside my rib cage, I uncomfortably sat on my couch. My sight is getting seriously hazy. I feel like the nerve in my brain would burst because of the throbbing pain.

I once again faced the sink, felt hopeless and lethargic and was thinking that Iverson would not show up because he's tired too.

I'm too scared to throw up on the floor.

Soft knocks reverberated in my ears. "Croozian... I'm here."

I feel at ease just hearing his calm voice.

"Thanks for coming..." doc.

He's tall and has a mature physique, not fit for a small pad.

He breathed, enough for me to hear it although I distanced myself from him.

I immediately felt him hiding his fatigue with a small smile. May dala siyang medicine kit, phone, at wallet. 'Yon lang ang dala niya.

Paniguradong babalik pa siya ng ospital.

"Where will I sit?"

I gulped. "Sorry, there's almost little to no space here. I glanced at his direction when I noticed that he did not move.
