Chapter 4

Sherri got Teri and herself a pair of shorts and a tank top, and Teri went to the bathroom to change.

"Beautiful." She said when she came out and took one look at Sherri.
"Me?" Smiled Sherri. She was blushing like crazy
"Yes you! You know, you're always so beautiful and I love it when you wear dresses and skirts and when you get all dressed up like that, but when you're dressed down, that's when you're most beautiful."
Sherri couldn't help but smile. She thought about if Teri was saying this from a friend's perspective, or if she was coming on to her. Either way, she liked it.
"Why thank you Teri!" She said "And you, well, you're beautiful no matter what! Whether you're wearing a dress, sweatpants, my pajamas, or nothing!"

Immediately she regretted what she had said.

"Well I mean, well you know what I mean, I mean-"
"Sherri, I know what you mean. I could say the same to you." Teri replied.
Sherri smiled
"Sher, you seem really nervous and anxious tonight. Is there something going on that I don't know about?" Asked Teri.
"It's just...."
Sherri was so close to letting her feelings out. To telling Teri that she was falling for her. That the kiss they shared that day...she wanted more of that. But she stopped herself.
"....Kamar I guess."
Teri sighed and sat down on the bed next to Sherri. "You know," she said "you never even told me why he left. What happened?"
"He wanted sex. And I didn't. He got mad because I haven't been in the mood for a while. I don't know what's wrong with me. I love him, I really do, but the appeal is just gone. I don't know why." Sherri started tearing up and Teri hugged her tight.
"It happens to all women. Sometimes your man just fails to please you for a little while."
"It's been months Teri." Said Sherri, still in a hug with Teri and still crying.
"Well, you never know. It could be a phase, it could be anything really. But whatever happens with you two, it will be for the best. You know what I say,-"
"Everything happens for a reason." They both said at the same time, breaking the hug.
"See?" Said Teri with a smile on her face, "I've said it so much that you know it now."
The two women laughed and looked into each other's eyes.
"You know, it could be something else." Said Sherri.
She decided once and for all that she was ready to come clean. She was ready to confess her feelings and let her secrets poor out to the woman who she loved and who hopefully loved her back.
"Like what?" Asked Teri, confused.
"It could be that I'm drifting away because...I've found someone else..."
"What...? Sherri there's another man? How come you didn't tell me?! Something needs to be done about this. Either you need to tell Kamar what's going on or you-"
"No Teri. There isn't another man you've got it all wrong."
"Then what the hell are you-"

"It's a woman, Teri, ok? It's a woman that I met a long time ago that I fell for as soon as I laid eyes on her. She's beautiful and I know she's the one I want to be with. I know because we kissed and it was the most passionate kiss I've ever experienced."

Teri's eyes widened as she listened to Sherri's story. She still wasn't catching on.
Sherri went on, "Teri, this woman is beautiful. I think I'm in love with her. She's the nicest, most kind hearted woman I've ever met. She's a wonderful mother to her kids, she's the best friend I've ever had, she's funny and cute, she's always there for me, she's sexy and hot and I love her. Teri...she's you...
