{A/n: Hey everyone Roach here with a new story. I hope you guys enjoy this story. DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT own Horimiya!}
*(Y/n)'s pov*
It was the beginning of my second year of Highschool. I walked into Katagiri Highschool and headed to my home room. I was in classroom 2-1 this year so I walked into class and took a seat at a desk. There were other students in the room already talking among themselves. Nearby a brown haired girl with gold eyes was talking to a short haired blonde girl and a purple haired guy with green eyes. I recognize them from my first year of school. The brown haired girl is Kyouko Hori, The blonde haired girl is Yuki Yoshikawa, and the guy is Tooru Ishikawa. I just sighed and crossed my arms on my desk and rested my head on my arms. I stayed up to long last night! Ugh why did that last game have to go for so long! I thought to myself as I closed my eyes thinking about the live stream I did on Twitch last night. Despite it keeping me up I had fun running around and goofing around with my streaming pals playing the new CoD. I smiled to myself as I remembered the fun times we had during the stream until I heard a few students whispering. "Geez! That weeb sure is a disgrace. I mean look at him sleeping on the first day of school!" I heard one of the students said. "Tell me about it! How can his parents even stand him!" Another student said. Jokes on you assholes! I don't talk to my parents! I thought to myself as I listened to their words about me. Not long after that the teacher walked in and started class so I sat up and started taking notes.
*After Classes Have Ended*
When classes ended for the day I stood up and stretched as I gathered my things. Kyouko was walking out just as I was and we accidentally bumped into each other. "Oh I'm sorry about that! I didn't see you there!" I said as I started helping her pick up her belongings. "It's alright. Accidents happen!" She replied smiling at me and I smiled nod and finished picking up her belongings and handed them to her. "Well either way I'm sorry for bumping into you." I replied and she smiled as she took her papers. "Like I said it's fine. Well anyway see you tomorrow!" She replied before leaving the room and I just waved bye before leaving as well. Tooru was glaring at me as I walked past him and I glanced at him through the corner of my eyes but ignored him and continued walking. After I left the school I headed home. As I got to my Uncle's house I was about to unlock the door when my smartphone dinged signaling I had a notification so I pulled it out to see a text from my Uncle.
'(Y/n) me and Asuna will be home late from work and Karen is staying at a friend's house tonight so you'll have to fix dinner for yourself tonight. Sorry but the big project is due soon and neither of us can get away from the office. I hope you don't mind.'
After I read the message I walked into the house. "Seems like I'm fending for myself tonight!" I said to myself. I went to my room and changed clothes into my usual wear and headed out deciding to go out to eat. My Uncle is a high up in some big Architecture firm here in Japan and my Aunt is Japanese herself. She works at a firm that had hired my Uncle's firm several years back and that's how they met. Karen is their 18 year old daughter who goes to one of the colleges here. I may have a no contact relation with my mom and dad but when I was growing up my Uncle was always so kind and helpful. In fact he would always buy me really nice gifts for Christmas or my birthday. All this went through my head as I walked to the shopping district and went to my favorite ramen shop that I go to when I have to eat dinner alone. I walked into the shop and looked over at the guy at the counter and gave him the signal I was ready to order but instead of coming to take my order he just nodded and started making it. It feels like just yesterday I came in here for the first time! Ever since then I've been coming here all the time! I thought with a smile to myself. A few minutes later the shop owner brought over my bowl of (Favorite/Ramen) over and placed it in front of me. I thanked him and he returned to the counter and I picked up my chopsticks and started eating. I ate in silence and once I had filled my stomach with two more bowls I paid and left. "A little over 500 yen per bowl of ramen and it tastes amazing! Can't beat that deal!" I said to myself as I walked out and started walking back towards the residential district when I saw a boy with gray hair and olive colored eyes laying on the ground. It seems like he had fallen face first onto the ground so I ran over to check on him as he looked to be about 8 maybe 10 years old. "Hey are you okay?" I asked as I crouched down to check on him.
He looked up at me with teary eyes and blood was coming from his nose. I immediately pulled a napkin out of my jacket pocket and started wiping the blood up. "You okay little man?" I asked him and he nodded. "Y-Yeah. A dog started barking and I thought it was chasing me so I ran but tripped and fell." The boy told me and I nodded. "I see. Well you got to be careful you know?" I replied and he nods. "My big sis tells me that all the time." He replied looking at me. His teary eyes had disappeared and he now had a calm expression on his face. "I see. Then it sounds like you have a great big sis!" I replied and he nodded. "Yeah! Big sis is really responsible! Since Mom is always at work and Dad's job keeps him away from home for long periods of time Big sis takes care of things at home!" He replied smiling though I could tell he had a little sadness in his eyes too. "I see." I said helping him up now that he's mostly cleaned up. "Do you know how to get home little man?" I asked him and he nodded and told me his street address and how to get there and I smiled. He's quite the smart kid. He said his name was Souta Hori. That surname sounds familiar but why?.... Oh well! It doesn't matter! I should just make sure he gets home safe. I thought to myself before smiling at Souta. "So Souta do you want me to walk with you home?" I asked him and he smiled and nods. "Yes please. I don't want that dog to come back!" He said and I nod. "Don't worry. I won't let the dog get you!" I replied and he smiled at me. I then held his hand and stood up and started walking him home. However I didn't know that my next encounter would change how my future days will go from then on out!
