Jaune was betrayed by everyone except for Team CFVY, Ozpin, Ruby, Blake, and SSSN all because his fake transcripts were exposed by Cardick. His family minus Saffron and Terra disown him and Ozpin was forced to expel Jaune from Beacon by the council. Jaune left and vowed to prove them wrong.
One day, Jaune found a mysterious container that contains blood called Demon Extract. He drank all of it and manage to survive the side effects of it and was rewarded with Ice powers. Not only that, but he had also awakened his semblance, Aura Amp. With these two, Jaune trained himself in weaponry, hand-to-hand combat, and his ice powers.
A few months later, most of the people who abandoned him felt guilty about how they treated him and wanted him back. Unfortunately for them, Jaune has changed and is not in the mood for forgiving all of them who pushed him away.
The Jaune they know is gone and out came a new Jaune.
He has Esdeath's powers and a few others in case someone's asking.
