"What's that? Who's that? Are we there yet? Ooo, what's that over there?"

"Keefe, I swear if you don't shut up..." but before I could finish my threat, an ominous shadow loomed in front of me. I gulped as I glanced at the terrified faces of my friends. Timidly, carefully, I started to glance up as I backed away, and I finally saw what it was that had scared my friends.

"Hello," said the thing. "I'm Olaf, and I like warm hugs!!"

Dex, who had been slowly backing away this whole time, looked slightly sick. "Nope, no way. I'm leaving. Goodbye." And he sprinted as hard as he could in the other direction.

"I think I'm with Dex on this one guys," and Tam took off quickly overtaking Dex.

Fitz looked like he was trying to be tough, but I could tell he was kinda nervous and seriously creeped out. Keefe's smirk confirmed it.

"Aww guys, it's not so bad. Come on, we've faced bigger monsters, plus I bet Foster could take him out no problem."

"Yeah, but the monsters never wanted to give us creepy hugs before," Biana said, taking a step back.

By this point, I was starting to feel really bad for the guy who had to dress up like Olaf. He still had his arms out, and looked pretty confused. Well, as confused as an eight foot tall snowman costume could look I guess.

"Guys, this is Olaf," I explained. "He's from one of the movies I used to watch as a kid. He gets paid to hug kids, and he's really nice, I promise."

"Why don't you go hug him then, Foster," Keefe teased. I shot him a glare, I didn't want to hug him, even if I knew it was safe.

"Maybe we should just go..." I tried.

"Awww, but we don't want to hurt his feelings!" Linh cried. She rushed over to Olaf and gave him a big hug. "I'm sorry about all my mean friends Mr. Olaf sir. I think it is amazing that you help kids and give them big hugs to make them happy."

The rest of us rolled our eyes. Unfortunately, Tam chose that moment to start walking back. "Hey guys, I think Dex is gone for good... WHY IS THAT MONSTER HUGGING MY SISTER?!?!?! WHY ISN'T ANYONE SAVING HER!?! WHAT IS GOING ON!?!?"

Before I could stop him, Tam had pulled out a throwing star and launched it right into Olaf's carrot nose. This... was not going to end well.

The Olaf character jumped back and started muttering a string of curses you would not expect a character at Disneyland to say. Then everyone gasped as he pulled off his costume head and threw it to the ground. "What is wrong with you people!" he shouted. "Can't a man just do his job without being attacked for it? It was just last month that I was attacked by a kid with a spray paint can, and then the month before that water balloons! That's it, I'm quitting," and he angrily stomped away leaving the Olaf head on the ground.

There was a shocked silence until Keefe said, "So, um, I'm not the only one that saw that right? I mean, the monster thing just TOOK OFF IT'S HEAD and there was a human inside of it. I'm guessing the human got eaten? I don't know, I'm confused, and slightly traumatized, and there's still a HEAD LYING ON THE SIDEWALK and I don't know what to do...."

"IT WAS A COSTUME YOU IDIOTS!" I yelled. "Elves should at least know what costumes are, I mean we have to wear one every year for the opening ceremonies at Foxfire. I swear. And Tam, YOU CAN'T JUST THROW WEAPONS AT PEOPLE! You're lucky this guy wasn't super suspicious about that. He was wearing a costume to dress up for kids. For future reference, if you see any other people like that, they are people. Not monsters. People. They will not hurt you."

"But..." Tam started.

"No buts, we are going. Right now."

"But..." Fitz tried.

"I said no buts!!" I screamed.

"Sophie," Biana started.

"What. Is. It."

"Dex is still hiding."

"...Right. First we'll find Dex. Then, we are going to continue and there will be no more throwing anything. Cash, weapons, or otherwise. Got it?"

My friends looked slightly intimidated, and all nodded meekly.

"Good," I said. "Let's go find Dex."
