It took a lot of ice cream. And apologies. And chocolate. And cool t-shirts for Dex to finally start talking to us again. Well, most of us. Keefe stuck next to Sandor for a good few hours after that.

"So, I know that a few of us were a little stressed for the previous ride that shall no longer be named. I think the next ride..."

"Hold up, next ride?" Dex interrupted.

"... as I was SAYing, I think the next ride should be nice, and calm, and peaceful."

"Aww, Foster, that sounds boooring," Keefe complained while everybody else shot him glares.

"I think that sounds like a good idea," Fitz stated, and everybody else agreed.

"Which is why I decided that the next ride should be Small World," I finished. I know. I'm completely evil.

"What is that?" Linh asked.

"It's just a peaceful boat ride..."

"NO! NO BOATS! NO WATER! NO MORE!"

"It's a really nice boat ride, and there are no drops and it's not fast or anything," I promised.

"I don't care. If it involves water, if it involves boats, if it involves literally getting into ANYTHING and being at the mercy of the humans I refuse," Dex exclaimed.

"Technically, you got trapped by your own gadget, sooo..." Keefe pointed out.

"Keefe, I swear...."

"Hey Dex, how about you just stay out and guard the exit with Sandor?" I suggested.

"No way Miss Foster, I am going with you to make sure nothing dangerous happens while you are on the ride," Sandor answered.

I rolled my eyes and said, "Well, Dex can just stay outside by himself then." Sandor tried to argue, but Dex quickly interrupted him.

"Sandor, either you stay with me and wait outside, or you go on the ride of death without me, because there is NO WAY I am going on another one of those things."

"Yeah, and Gigantor, Dex is actually safer off the ride. We don't want him fainting again," Keefe teased.

"Dude, you are going to get pranked. SO. HARD," Dex promised.

"As long as you don't touch The Hair, bring it on Dizznee."

"I hate my last name now..." Dex whined.

"Okay, so Dex is going to hide outside while we take a minute to relax on a boat in Midget Land. My only concern is that Foster looks WAY too happy about this ride. What's the catch?"

"Well, it can't be worse than Death Mountain," Tam said. "So I say, give it a shot..?"

*Gasp* "Is that optimism Bangs Boy? I hope it is another terrifying roller coaster ride of awesomeness just to wipe that enthusiastic look off your face," Keefe said.

"Oh, it's awesome all right, just not scary. So don't worry. I'm sure you are all going to love it."

"I'm all for riding rides, but I was promised princesses. And castles. And so far, all I've seen is a tiny pile of bricks that CAN NOT be classified as a castle, and I haven't seen anyone that looks even remotely like a princess yet," Biana said.

"There is actually a place where you can go and meet different princesses. After Small World, I think we should see Rapunzel. She has the best movie, and the best spot in Disneyland," I explained.

"DEAL," Biana said. "Let's go!"

~a few minutes later...~

🎵🎵🎵 It's a world of laughter, a world of tears, it's a world of kindness a world of fears. La la la, la la la, la la la, la la la... 🎵🎵🎵

".... Sophie... As soon as we FINALLY get off this ride, I WILL HURT YOU," Tam moaned.

"And I thought Splash Mountain was bad..." Fitz said.

We had been on the Small World ride for at least half an hour already. The song was already permanently stuck in our brains. It was bad for me, especially since my Polyglot ability made even the parts in different languages sound just like English. Keefe, who had taunted Tam the second the ride started, was starting to look a little sick.

"Miss Foster, there are many things that I would do to keep you safe. But sitting through this? My training never prepared me to protect you from an attack of this multitude," Sandor groaned.

"Gigantor..." Keefe gasped weakly. "Help. Me. This song: it will NEVER go away. These dolls... They will forever haunt my nightmares... Foster, how could you? I thought what we had was special..."

"Oh Keefe, stop being such a baby," I said while blushing a little. Even amongst his "pain" Keefe still smirked at me. "It should be done soon anyway. Then we will see the princesses, and then YOU can pick the next ride. Deal?"

Apparently that cured him instantly, because he immediately sat up and said, "Deal! I choose the terrible tower thing you were talking about earlier."

"You mean the Tower of Terror?" I asked.

"No. No. No way. I've heard about that," Fitz panicked. "That is the crazy ride where the humans drop you from a height taller than Splash Mountain! Count me out."

"That sounds amazing! Yup, that is definitely what I am going to choose."

"ARRRGGGHHH!!!!!"

"Wait," Keefe asked, "Was that Linh?"

"I can't TAKE IT ANYMORE!!" Linh shouted. Everyone gasped as she controlled the water around our boat, making it launch us out of the ride until we crash landed right in front of the exit. As soon as we stopped, Linh ran out of the tunnel as fast as she could. The rest of us were a little slower to respond. Sandor was the first to recover, and he picked me up and ran out after Linh.

"Linh, what...?" I tried as soon as Sandor finally put me down.

"I tried Sophie," she said, almost in tears. "I tried to like it, for you, I really did try. But the little people were so creepy, and the song was so awful, and we got STUCK there, and the water was calling to me, and I just had to GET OUT..."

"Linh, it's okay," I said. "Everybody hates that ride. That's kinda the whole point."

"............" Linh was staring at me in confusion. "You mean, you intentionally tried to torment us? You brought us into that evil place... on purpose?"

"..yes?" I said in a small voice.

"Oh," Linh said simply. And then she started bursting out laughing. "That's HILARIOUS! I mean, did you SEE my brother's face? And you even got Keefe!!!"

I laughed too, very relieved, and soon, everybody else had joined in.

"That was the Worst. Ride. Ever!!" Keefe laughed. And we all wholeheartedly agreed.

Dex found us and had a very smug look on his face. "I knew it! I knew that it was a bad idea to go on this ride, and I was right!"

"Yeah, Dex, but you said that about literally every single ride here, so you were bound to be right at one point," Fitz pointed out.

"Wonderboy is just sour that I was right, and he had to go through a ride of horrors again."

"Yeah, well you can't avoid the next activity Dex. We are going to see a princess, and you have to come with us," Keefe shouted.

"I think you'll like her, Keefe," I said.

"She could never be as magnificent as the Lady Foss-Boss," Keefe retorted.

"No," I agreed. "But, she has The Hair."

"Foster, you did not just tell me that some random human princess has The Hair. I, Keefe, am the ONLY one who has The Hair."

"Trust me Keefe, you'll be jealous," I said.

"Not a chance Foster."

"We'll see..."
